Omer  Kiser, 76, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Saint Elizabeth Edgewood. Omer  retired from the Kroger Warehouse, Woodlawn, OH and he was a member of Plum Creek Christian Church, Butler, KY. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Kiser in 1994. Kenneth Andrew Weinel, age 41, of Cold Spring passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his residence. Ken was an estimator for Pipeline Products of West Chester, Ohio, Cold Spring Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of the Navy Reserve. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Drew Johnson.  Kenneth is survived by his parents, Robert and Mary (nee Thomas) Weinel; a brother, Robert (Angie) Weinel; a sister, Christa (Brad) Johnson; a nephew, Taylor Johnson and a niece, Shae Weinel. Phyllis Satterlee Nelson

Phyllis Satterlee Nelson, age 92, passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, at her home in Berea, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-three years, Raymond Wesley Nelson, who passed away on November 14th of this year. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Nelson, and a brother, Raymond Satterlee. Survivors include five children: Doris (Robert) Brinson, Kenneth (Connie) Nelson, Frankye (Warren) May, Linda (Mark) Wygoda, Rebecca (David) Evans, and daughter-in-law, Angela Nelson (Ted) Knight; 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was born November 24, 1919, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Frank and Minnie Satterlee. She graduated from Campbell County High School in 1938 and attended Eastern Kentucky University. She was the first woman to receive the University’s Regent’s Oratorical Award. She married Raymond Nelson in 1939 and taught in Campbell County School District for 10 years, both elementary and high school. She taught several years in the Hamilton City School District, Hamilton, OH. Her many essays and poems were published in the Kentucky Post, Times Star, and Hamilton Journal News. Her poetry was also published by the International Poetry Organization. She was a life-long Methodist and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hamilton, OH. After moving to Berea, KY in 2010, she attended the Berea United Methodist Church. Etta Mae Rifkin

Etta Mae (Jenkins) Rifkin, 101 years old, of Cold Spring, KY passed away on November 17, 2012. She was born in Prospect, VA on 7/11/1911. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Rifkin and daughter Beatrice (Dunn) Pryor. She is survived by daughter Barbara (George) Miller of Cold Spring, with whom she lived, Daughter Patricia (James) Howell of Bellevue, son, Harry “Tex” (Sharon)  Dunn of California, step-daughter Connie (Richard) Vendeland of California and step-son Robert Rifkin of Florida; Three grandsons: Doug, Dave and Steve Colyer and granddaughters: Lora Funicelli, Kim Michl, Karen McGahee, Pam Engel, Vidki Kuhn, Julie and Melinda Vendeland; 16 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; Sisters, Ami Neiser and Margie Moher and brother Robert “Walker” Jenkins. Etta retired in 1972 as a secretary for Wiedemann Brewery. Along with Harry, she took an active interest in her community of Dayton. They were a founder of Dayton Community Newsletter and she was a Dayton news reporter for the Campbell County Recorder in the mid-eighties. She was an officer for many clubs within the community and she and Harry were both members of the Bellevue-Dayton Memorial Day Parade for many years, he as president and she as secretary and publicity chairman. They both received “Keys to the City of Dayton” and a recognition plaque for their many contributions at their big 80th birthday celebration. Raymond Wesley Nelson


Raymond Wesley Nelson was born September 23, 1919 to George and Anna Mae
Nelson in California, KY. He graduated from Campbell County High School and received a B.S.
from Eastern Kentucky University in 1943, and graduated with an M.A. from Xavier University
and also the University of Cincinnati. In 1939, he married Phyllis Satterlee, and to that union
were born six children. He taught Industrial Arts at Ludlow KY High School for one year, before
enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he served from 1943-1946. He made Pharmacist’s Mate 1st
Class and served in the South Pacific. He taught Industrial Arts at Newport Jr. High in Hamilton,
OH for 9 years and became librarian at Roosevelt Jr. High, where he coached the baseball team.
He then became librarian at Garfield Jr. High until his retirement in 1984. He was commissioned
KY Colonel in 1964 for his work with young people. He was the first president of Campbell
County Rural Knothole League, having helped organize the league. He was a lifelong member of
the V.F.W. Post 3205 in Alexandria, KY and a member of the educational associations N.E.A.,
O.E.A., and B.C.T.A. He was a lifelong Methodist and a member of Grace United Methodist
Church of Hamilton, OH where he served on many committees and as an usher. After moving to
Berea, KY in 2010, he attended the Berea United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by
his son, Timothy Nelson; brother, Robert Nelson; and sister, Peggy Ackerman. He is survived by
his wife Phyllis, having enjoyed 73 years of marriage. He is also survived by five children: son,
Kenneth (Connie) Nelson; daughters Doris (Robert) Brinson, Frankye (Warren) May, Rebecca
(David) Evans, and Linda (Mark) Wygoda; and daughter-in-law Angela Nelson Knight (Ted);
brothers, George (Joy), Louis (Linda), Jim (Rita), Dave (Sophia), John (Cheryl), and Don
(Brenda); sister, Della Nelson; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be

Elmer A Gebelt, 87, of Alexandria, KY., passed away on November 8, 2012 at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas, KY. He served his country in WWII. He was also a member of KY Twirlers Square Dancing Group. F. Keith Reinhardt

F. Keith Reinhardt, 74, of Alexandria, KY, was born Sunday, September 18, 1938 in Grant's Lick, KY, the son of Nick and Margaret (nee Field) Reinhardt. He died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Saint Elizabeth Fort Thomas. Keith retired after 35 years of service at Cincinnati Bell and was a lifelong resident of Campbell County, KY. He lived a full hard working prosperous life as the devoted head of his family. He was loved by his family, friends and neighbors. He was always willing to help others and was known for doing so in his neighborhood. He enjoyed working in his lawn. Keith loved to ride his Harley and had recently transitioned to a Corvette of which he was very meticulous and proud. Keith was a long time member of NRA. Keith is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruby Carroll Reinhardt. He is also survived by three daughters, Wendy (Dennis) Dailey, Karen (Brian) Sansom and Kelly (David) Schout; four grandchildren, Casey Kelley, Cory Dailey, Alexandra Dailey and Nicole Schout; three brother Donald L. Paul Edward Herald, 74, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his home in Highland Heights, KY. He was an U.S. Army Veteran, retired from the Kroger Co., a faithful member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, The Gideon's International, and The American Legion. Randall "Randy" William Frazer

Randall "Randy" William Frazer, 57, of Hamilton, OH, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital Fort Thomas. He was a machinist for Andrews Laser Works in Wilder, KY. He is survived by his mother, Violet (Hempen) Frazer of Cold Spring, KY, a sister, Diana Fell of Cold Spring, KY & a host of nieces & nephews. Gale F. Watson Sr.


Gale F. Watson Sr., 65, of Alexandria, died September 12, 2012, at his residence. At his request, no service will be held. Gale was born March 28, 1947, at Booth Hospital in Covington, KY. Gale was an avid musician his entire life, being taught by his father, and passing that passion down to his two oldest sons. Throughout the late 70’s and most of the 80’s, he could be seen every weekend playing at Bobbie Mackie’s, Glen Schmitz, or Mom’s Opery House.  His band was Gale Watson and Kentucky Morning. Gale served in the Navy, and spent most of his naval career in Hawaii.  He worked many years for P&G, HENKLE, and most recently with ADP. Gale spent more than 50 years of his life in Kentucky, living every minute to the fullest.  All that knew him would tell you that his personality was bigger than life, and nothing was more important to him than his kids. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Sharyne; Sister, Diane; Sons, Gale Franklin Jr., Matthew Gale and Jeffrey; Daughters, Jessica Gayle and Virginia; and his Niece, Diana.

Jordan Michael Sand, 15, of California, passed away on July 9, 2012 at his residence. He was a Sophomore at Campbell County High School where he was a member of the Swim Team, Ski Club and Track Team (Pole Vault). Jordan was a member Sts. Peter and Paul Church - California, KY; he enjoyed water skiing, robotics, playing the piano and was an avid grape grower at his family's vineyard. Marie Bush Stamper, 88, lived in Newport, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice Fort Thomas. She was a retired employee of Queen City Dinette. Daughter of Joe and Hester Bush, Marie grew up in Breathitt County Kentucky. Her parents, Joe and Hester Bush preceded her in death.  Her son, Glen Stamper, preceded her in death in 1970.  Marie is survived by 2 daughters, Norma Jean Stamper of Newport and Ann McIntosh of Cold Spring, 3 sons, Thurlin Rue Roberts of Ft. Daisy Boden, 75, of New Albany, IN, formerly of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital New Albany, IN. Mrs. Boden was born on September 14, 1936, in Venice, Florida, to the late Floyd Whidden and Janie (Carver) Whidden.  She was married 51 years to the late Edward Boden of Cold Springs, Kentucky.  Life led them to Cleveland, Georgia in 1979 where they raised three children; then to Alexandria, Kentucky for their retirement; after her husband’s death, she relocated to New Albany, Indiana.  She was a retired department manager for WALMART in Alexandria, KY.

Mrs. Boden is survived by her son Andrew Boden and his wife Nan of Altadena, California; son Raymond Boden of Los Angeles, California; daughter Christina Boden Williams and her husband Matthew of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and five grandsons. Visitation 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 13, 2012, with funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Alexandria Funeral Home Alexandria, KY. James Robert Keeler



James Robert Keeler, 86, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at his home in Chattanooga, TN. Formerly of Fort Thomas, KY. He was a retired Engineering Supervisor for WKRC TV in Cincinnati, OH, a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, Past President of Fort Thomas Optimist Club & Past President of Highlands Band Association. His work with WKRC, took him from their very first broadcast in April 1949 to switching WKRC-TV's first live program, The Skipper Ryle Show & in June of 2009 he was honored to flip the switch from analog tv to digital tv. He was also a member of Local #1224 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as well as a certified member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Schnitzler Keeler, a daughter, Terri Hundermer, two sons, Rob & Tim Keeler, step daughter, Barbara Brinkmann, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren & 2 step grandsons.
