Janet Ann Ampfer

Janet Ann Ampfer, 79, Passed away at her home in Alexandria, KY.  on  June 26, 2013 She was a member of Saint Joseph Church Cold Spring. She loved to travel and go camping with her family. She was also a member of Good Sam Angels and Vagabond Squares. Janet is survived by her husband Lee; sons, Steve (Elaine) and Paul (Diane) Ampfer; daughter, Karen (Bill -2010) Humphreys; sisters, Sister Helen Louise (Joyce) Bartlett, Joan Miller, Jacqueline Darpel, Jean Marie Bartlett; brother, Louis Bartlett; Grandchildren, David and Jeff Humphreys, Marcie Thomas, Christi Townson, Julie Ampfer, Tim and Jon Ash; 5 Great Granchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 30, 2013 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Alexandria Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial be held on Monday, July 1, 2013, 1:00 pm at the Saint Joseph Church Cold Spring. Charles Elmer Randall

Charles Elmer Randall , 65, of Newport, KY, formerly of Melbourne, KY, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at his home. He was a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, retired welder for Ortner Freight Car Company & a former employee of Silver Grove Schools. Charles is survived by, 3 daughters, Christie Randall, Ginger Randall & Nicole Randall; 3 sons, Charles Elmer Randall II, Daniel Randall & Brian Randall; brother, Gary Randall; sister, Marlene Joering & 14 grandchildren. Edgar H. Smith

Edgar H. Smith, age 88, of Cold Spring, KY passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Highlandspring of Ft. Thomas. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a long time member of the Kings and Queens. Edgar is survived by his loving wife of 61yrs, Wilma Lampe Smith; 3 daughters, Karen (David) Puckett, Patti (John) Hillebrand and Vickie (Doug) Schneider; son, Michael (Mariann) Smith; sister, Frances Peluso; 8 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his brother, Walter Smith and his sister, Uvonna "Bonnie" Purnell.Visitation will be Friday, June 21, 2013 from 10am to 12pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home with Funeral Services immediately following at the funeral home. Johnny Campbell

Johnny Elliot Campbell, 71, passed away at his home in Hebron, KY. Johnny was retired from Roadway after serving there for 30 years. His favorite times were when his children and grandchildren were all home. He was preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Tom, Ernest, Pearl Brown Campbell; Granddaughters Rachel Marie and Erin Lynn Campbell. Johnny is survived by his wife, Sharon; Sons, John and Robert (Angie) Campbell; Daughter, Lori (Vince Fuller) Campbell; brothers, Merrell and Charles Campbell, Sisters, Margaret Harper and Billie Faye Embry; 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild. Loren "Pete" Wilson


Loren "Pete" Wilson, 74, passed away on Sunday, June 9, at his home in California, KY, after a long battle with cancer.  Pete was born on August 29, 1938, in Kenton County, KY.  He was a resident of both California, KY and Milford, OH.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Agnes (Elmore) Wilson and his brother, Guy Wilson.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sue Ball Wilson; his daughter Lori Sue (Kyle) Weber; his sister Paula Sue (David) Mullins; his brothers-in-law, Edward Ellis (Nancy) Ball and Louis Allen (Marty) Ball and many nephews and nieces.  Pete graduated from Campbell County High School, received his Bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his Master's and Specialist's degrees from Xavier University.  He was a well known educator in Northern Kentucky and Southwestern Ohio.  He culminated his career by serving as Superintendent of Schools in Hammersville, Milford and New Richmond, OH.  He was always available for those in need of help.  He will be dearly missed by his loving family, his many friends and co-workers.  Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, from 10 AM until 2 PM at Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington St., Alexandria, KY.  Memorial Service will be at the Alexandria Funeral Home immediately following the visitation.  Burial will be in Ball Family Cemetery, California, KY.  If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cinti, 45206, or the National Drowning Prevention Foundation, 1 Hall of Fame Dr., Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33316.

Clarence L. Zacharias , 91, of Cold Spring, passed away on June 6, 2013 at Highlandspring of Fort Thomas. He retired from Newport Steel & was a WWII Army Veteran. Clarence is survived by his wife, Mildred (Robinson) Zacharias; six children; one sister; seventeen grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Carl "Bud" Robertson

Carl “Bud” Robertson, 86, of Alexandria, KY passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. He was a retired truck driver from McLean Trucking. Carl was also a WWII Air Force Veteran, member of the Campbell County VFW Post 3205, Teamsters Local 100 and the Alexandria Masonic Lodge #152 F& A M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Bristow) Robertson, a son Carl “Buddy” Robertson and a daughter, Barbara “Barbie” Fry. Carl is survived by two daughters, Carlene (Bruce) Dodds and Donna (Tom) Futscher both of Alexandria, KY; one son, Ben Robertson of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Carolyn Rosenthal and Ann Barry; two brothers, Donald and Robert Robertson; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Fred Hemphill, 74, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the VA Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. Fred was a retired carpenter and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Dottie (Pape) Hemphill; three sons, Keith (Angela), Kevin (Amanda) and Kyle Hemphill; a sister, Maymie Alford; two granddaughters, Kayla and Maggie Hemphill and several nieces and nephews.
