Bessie Lou Carson

Bessie Lou Carson, 69, of Alexandria, KY, died at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Ft. Thomas, KY, November 25, 2013. She was the kind of lady who always looked out for everyone else. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (94) and her son, Melvin Jr. (2000). She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Polly; Grandchildren, Heather, Abmer, Ashley, Andy, Angel; Great grand children, Ashayla, and Camdyn. Visitation and funeral will be held on Wed, November 27 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM with the funeral starting at 11:00AM. Interment at Alexandria Cemetery

Philip L. Johnson

Philip L. Johnson of Alexandria went to be with the Lord November 18th 2013. He was born May 7th 1938 in Addyston, Ohio to parents Roderick H. Johnson and Kathryn Wurzelbacher Johnson. Phil was a retiree of General Motors and a member of High Point Baptist Church for 40 yrs. He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Minton Johnson whom he married in 1968. His sons Philip Todd (Heather) and Rodrick H. (Angela), sisters Mary Etta Gray and Ida Burford and five grandchildren: Philihp Israel, Chloe, Mattiah, Isaiah, Faith and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Donald, and Howard; sisters Norma Bauer and Iola Gudgeon, special friend and brother-in-law Don Burford and precious grandson Ty Johnson. Visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Highpoint Baptist Church in Alexandria, KY from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with the service starting at 1:00PM. Eldred Houben


Eldred Houben, 88, passed away on November 16, 2013 at his home in Highland Heights, KY. He was a graduate of Campbell County High School. He worked as an electrician for the Baldwin Piano and Organ Company and later worked for LeBlond Machine Tool Company. He loved traveling and camping with his family through the United States. Eldred was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and played on the bowling team. Eldred also served his country in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Kathryn Houben. He is survived by his brothers, Murlen C. (Betty) and Norman L. (Yvonne) Houben; sister, Laura AtLee (Ed); cousin, Melanie Brossart; along with many nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Highland Heights, KY with the funeral service following directly after at 11:00 am. Alma L. Good


Alma L. Good, 77, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. Alma was a retired office manager for Ceramic Coating Company of Wilder, KY. She was a member of Saint Mary Parish in Alexandria and a member of Saint Marys' Seniors. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Good; a brother, Paul Arlinghaus and a sister, Marilyn Arlinghaus. She is survived by one daughter, Julie (Gary) Lubbers; two sons, Matt Good and Jim (Paradee) Good; brother, Ralph Arlinghaus; sister, Delores Mackzum; four grandchildren, Benjamin Cassell, Megan, Lauren and Hannah Good. Christy Marie Mulberry


Christy Marie Mulberry, age 32, of Alexandria passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. Christy received her Doctorate from the UC School of Pharmacy and was a pharmacist for Kroger, Cold Spring. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria where she was active with the Morning Moms program and The Catholic Order of Foresters. Christy is survived by her husband, Dustin Mulberry; son, Parker Dean Mulberry; daughter, Paige Williah Mulberry; parents Harold and Judy Griffith; sister, Amy Marie Griffith; grandmothers, Imogine Deaton and Martha Steffen. She always made sure everyone else was always taken care of before herself. Ronnie Lee Tackett


Ronnie Lee Tackett, age 63, of Newport, Kentucky passed away on Monday, November 4th 2013. Ron was born in Pikeville, Kentucky in 1949. He dedicated 21 years of his life to the United States Marine Corp and was always known as an avid reader, writer and woodworker. He also greatly enjoyed working as a school bus driver in Saline County, Kansas and Campbell County, Kentucky prior to retirement. Ron is survived by his three sons, Preston, Nathan and Jason Tackett, his mother Shirley Jenkins, his sisters Bonnie Thompson and Linda Tackett, brothers Larry and Jerry Tackett, and five grandchildren. Margie Rapp Alford

Margie Rapp Alford, 61, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She was self-employed as the business owner of Sprinkler Inspection Services and “The Hub” Warehouse in Covington, KY. She was also instrumental in developing “R-3” services of Covington which include the Re-Use Center and services which aid in renewing and restoring productive life to those struggling with recovery from addictions and law enforcement. Margie was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church, Alexandria where she was involved with women’s ministry and organizing and leading Bible study groups. Margie’s cheerful welcome and fellowship could always be expected at the coffee bar she managed at Church on Sunday mornings. All who knew Margie remember her as a woman of faith, of hope and of love. She always thought of others and put their needs ahead of her own. Margie was the beloved wife of Ron Alford, loving daughter of Josephine and the late Charles C. Rapp, dear sister to nine brothers and sisters, Mary (Greg) Reed, Julie (Mike) Murphy, John (Jody) Rapp, Dan (Debbie) Rapp, Chuck (Barb) Rapp, Elizabeth (Ray) Baumann, Tony (Karen) Rapp, Gary (Nancy) Rapp, Cindy (Bill) Vogt, dear sister-in-law to Teri Alford Vallandingham and Susan (Barry) Jolly and the favorite aunt to 35 nieces and nephews and 52 great nieces and nephews. Edward White

Edward White, 87, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013. Mr. White was a WW II Army Veteran, he was a home builder with Roy White & Sons. They built and operated the RECA Roller Rink in Alexandria and also built many homes in the area. He was a member of Saint Mary Seniors. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Alice White and a brother, Don White. He is survived by his wife, Armella “Rusty” White; a daughter, Lisa (Bob) Moser; 3 sons, Anthony “Fritz” (Char) White, James (Donna) White and Paul (Laura) White; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM with a Memorial Mass immediately following at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary Church, Alexandria, KY. Franklin "Buck" Eich

Franklin "Buck" Eich, 90, passed away on October 31, 2013 at his home in Cold Spring, KY. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He was the owner of Model Motors in Newport for 50 years, served as Commodore of the Dayton Yacht Club and loved to race midget race cars. Buck was preceded in death by his wife Marthena. He is survived by his sister, Louis Vecshe; Nephews, Steve and Jeff Vecshe; Caregivers, Donald and Mary Hill.
