Norbert "Norb" See


Norbert “Norb” H. See, age 77, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY.  Norb retired from Cincinnati Bell after working as a lineman for 39yrs.  He was a member of St. Philip Church, Melbourne, KY. Norb will be remembered as a sweet and gentle man. He touched many lives thru his kindness, generosity, and creative handiwork. He is survived by his children, Mark (Kyung) See, Ron (Alice) See, and Lisa (Tom) Butt; brother, Edward See; 7 grandchildren, Jessica (Justin), Evan, Monica, Gabrielle, Ben, Mitchell, and Nathan; great-granddaughter, Carolina.  Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at St. Philip Church, Melbourne, KY. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Byron Nelson

Byron Harold Nelson, age 91, of Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Mr. Nelson proudly served in the Army during WWII. During part of his time in service he was captured in Germany and taken as a P.O.W.  Corporal Byron Nelson was a decorated soldier and earned the Bronze Star Medal and Two Purple Hearts. After his military service he went on to serve for 34yrs as a Federal Protective Officer for the US Government working in California, Chicago, Atlanta, and Cincinnati. He was a lifelong member of the Campbell Co. V.F.W. Post 3205, the D.A.V., and the KY Colonels. He also enjoyed attending the First Assembly of God Church in Alexandria.  Byron  is survived by his wife of 55yrs, Carolyn (nee Bradford) Nelson; son, Stephen Nelson; grandson, Bryan Nelson; great-grandson, Connor Nelson; three brothers, Charles, William, and Garland Nelson; sister, Vivian Sayers. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service immediately following at Alexandria Funeral Home. Violet Frazer

Violet Frazer (nee Hempen), age 90, of Newport, KY passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Frazer and her son, Randall Frazer.  Violet is survived by her daughter, Diana (James) Fell; sister, Arlette Hempen; two grandchildren, Lori (Chris) Stover and Erin (Colin) Copes; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Michelle, Madison, and Tristan. James E. Flairty

James E. Flairty, 68, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Fort Thomas. Jim retired from Cincinnati Bell. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Campbell County VFW Post #3205. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mabel (Pribble) Flairty; brothers, Harold, Donald, Alfred and Eugene Flairty and a sister, Thelma Lee Bray. He is survived by two brothers, Bobby and Kenny Flairty; three sisters, Naomi Knight, Blanche Cox and Doris Hofstetter. Visitation Saturday, July 25, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM with funeral service immediately following at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY. Interment with Military Honors will be at the Butler Cemetery, Butler, KY.

Daniel T. Rosenhagen

Daniel T. Rosenhagen, 59, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dan was a mail handler for United States Postal Service at Dalton Street, Cincinnati, OH. He served in the United States Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Renee Walker and his parents, Victor & Nola Rosenhagen. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary V. Rosenhagen (nee Walters); daughter, Carrie Geiman; grandchildren, Tyler Victor Rosenhagen, Garrett Martin Geiman and Alexis Jewel Walker; sisters, Vicki Lynn Reynolds and Donna Joyce Burress. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27 at Saint Philip Church, Melbourne, KY from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with the Rite of Christian Burial immediately following. Donald G. Arnold

Donald G. Arnold, 82, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, KY. Don was a retired electrical designer for LeBlond Machine Tool Company, a United States Naval Veteran of the Korean War, a member of Alexandria Masonic Lodge # 152 F. A. & M. of Alexandria KY, the Cowpasture River Preservation Association, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Circle. He is survived by two sons, Keith (Theresa) Arnold and Mark (Margie) Arnold; five grandchildren, Tracie, Amy, Keith Jr., Jared and Jason; also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Aubrie, Garett, Madison, Savanah, Hunter, Brady, Audrey, and Issaac. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with funeral services following at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY. Brooks Metcalf


Brooks Metcalf, 86, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015. He retired from Nutone after 36 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Brooks was preceded in death by his wife, Della Metcalf in 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Stuart) Stephens; 5 sons, Robert (Helena) Angel, David (Kelly) Angel, Wade (Teresa) Angel, Bill (Carol) Angel and Randy Metcalf. Brother, Jesse Metcalf; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Chris Schweitzer

Chris Schweitzer, age 95, of Alexandria passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood.  His wife of 67yrs, Mary Jane Schweitzer, preceded him in death in 2011.  Mr. Schweitzer served in the Army during WWII and landed on Normandy Beach. He was later captured and made a POW in Germany.  After returning home in 1945 he worked for C.V. Maescher Construction for 45yrs. After retirement he drove a school bus 8yrs for Campbell Co. Schools. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Alexandria. He is survived by his daughter, Anita Judge; 3 sons, John, Doug, and Jeff Schweitzer; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at Alexandria Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 beginning at 10am at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1 N. Jefferson St., Alexandria, KY 41001. Interment will follow at the Alexandria Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to: St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Roger L. Rittinger


Roger L. Rittinger, 83, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015. Roger was a retired construction estimator for OPM Services Inc. of Hamilton, OH and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (Cann) Rittinger. He is survived by two daughters, Tracy (Bryan) Snyder and Kelly (Troy) Downey; four grandchildren, Layne, Carson, Kennedy and Evan and a sister, Shirley Holzschuh. Visitation 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, July 9 at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY. Funeral service 10:00 AM Friday, July 10 at the funeral home. Nathan Church

Nathan Michael Church, age 45, of Covington, KY passed away on July 4, 2015. Nathan is survived by his wife of 28yrs, Kelly Church; son, Colton Church; parents, Roger and Juanita Church; sister, Heather (Doug) Breitenstein; three nieces, Rebekah Napier, Rachel and Hannah Breitenstein. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends that will all miss him forever. Maureen T. Seiter

Maureen T. Seiter (nee Kroth), 78, of California, KY, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. Maureen was a care giver and a homemaker. Her family always came first and  she adored spending time with her grandchildren. Her compassion for anyone who crossed her path was of genuine love. Her witty sense of humor would leave your sides aching for hours. No stranger to the kitchen her meals and desserts were incredibly delicious. In her earlier years she was a talented but modest artist. We are better people because of her and she will be dearly missed. We love you mom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Seiter and two brothers, Donald and Ronald Kroth. Maureen is survived by her daughters, Anne (Frank) Maynard of California, KY, Constance Green of Centennial, CO, Maria Schwartz of Southgate, KY and Rachel (Michael) Farris of Cypress, TX; one sister, Elsa Bezold; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dorothy Sauerbeck


Dorothy Sauerbeck (nee Derrick), 87, of Alexandria, died July 1, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She was a graduate of LaSalette Academy in Covington and retired from the Campbell County Clerk's Office in 1985.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Parrish in Alexandria for 59 years. Survivors include husband of 65 years, Philip C. Sauerbeck; Daughter Mary (Tom) Walker, sons Philip M. (Laura) and Kenneth J. (Brenda) Sauerbeck; along with 9 grandchildren Eric S. Walker, Nicole W. Bright, Adam T. Walker, Jessica A. Shields, Matthew J. Sauerbeck, Brian J. Sauerbeck, Holly W. Kravetz, Joseph Sauerbeck, Nicholas P. Sauerbeck and 14 great-grandchildren Brandon Walker, Lance Walker, Cassandra Walker, Rebecca Walker, Kinsey Bright, Sydney Bright, Tatum Bright,  Emily Walker, Nora Walker, Madison Walker, Eric Shields, Alexis Shields, Brianna Shields, and Rockwell Kravetz. Visitation is Monday July 6, from 9:00-10:00 A.M., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church 8246 East Main Street, Alexandria, KY 41001.
