Helen Sullivan

Helen Frances Sullivan, age 76, of Wilder, KY passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at her residence. She was a former employee of N.K.U. and St. Luke Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Sullivan in 1989 and her longtime companion, Richard A. Bartlett in 2013. Helen is survived by her children, John (Donna) Doyle, Larry (Grace) Sullivan, Michael (Lisa) Sullivan, Kenneth (Patricia) Sullivan, Kathy (Jeff) Kucko, Margaret (Doug) Riggle, and Victoria Sullivan; step-children, Terrie Bardo, Angel (Greg) Steffen, and Jimmy (Mary) Fischer; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home. LaVerne E. Fry

LaVerne E. Fry (nee Schuchter), 89, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Fort Thomas. She was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Alexandria, KY and Saint Mary’s Seniors. LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Marcellus Fry. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Crowley and Marcey Works; one sister, Shirley Fries; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation 8:30 AM – 9:45 AM Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, with Mass following at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be in Saint Stephen Mausoleum, Fort Thomas, KY.  

Charles "Cork" Bridewell

Charles “Cork” Bridewell was born in Newport, KY on July 14, 1922. He passed away September 22, 2015 at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen Stanfield Bridewell. He leaves behind 2 sons, Terry Bridewell (Angie) and Dan Bridewell (Andrea); 2 daughters, Jan Hirth (Denny) and Micki Strong (Bob); 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Charles was a WWII veteran of the Army where he served as a Staff Sergeant. He earned the EAME Theater Ribbon with 5 bronze stars, a bronze service arrowhead for amphibious assault, the Purple Heart and a good conduct ribbon. As part of the 39^th combat engineers he was involved in many dangerous conflicts including Anzio Beachhead, Sicily, Po Valley, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno and North Apennines while serving in Europe and Africa. One of his many encounters while in Italy was viewing the public hanging of Mussolini. He and Helen were the original builders and owners of Alexandria Parkview. He later owned Bridewell Builders until his retirement in 1987. He was one of the early members of Main Street Baptist Church, instrumental in the building of the first church and the Calvin A. Perry Community Center. He served on the building committee at Main Street for several decades. Visitation will be held at Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, KY on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY.

Bryan Bihl

Bryan Eric Bihl of Burkesville, KY, born September 23rd, 1965 passed into New Life on September 15 2015. Bryan spent 25yrs at Sara Lee as a programmer and then became a fishing guide at Lake Cumberland.  He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and a member of the Bob White Club.Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Dixie and Ira "Buzzy"  Bihl of Melbourne, KY. He will be missed by his siblings, Denise Jensen (Erick), Robin Turner (Bobby), Kimberly Hoffert (John), Michelle Fallman (Rick), Curtis Bihl (Laura) and his many nephew and nieces and other friends and relatives who loved him very much. Visitation will be held at Alexandria Funeral Home in Alexandria, KY on Tuesday Evening September 22nd from 6:00-7:30pm.

Mary Allender

Mary M. Allender (nee Steffen), 87, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice Fort Thomas. She was a member of Saint Mary Parish and a charter member of the Northern KY Saddle Club. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allender. She is survived by her children, Barry Allender, Mary (John) Simon and Robert (Mary Ellen) Allender; sister, Dorothy Kool; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM Monday, September 14 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Alexandria, KY Mass following at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Alexandria Cemetery. Raina Prince

Raina Elizabeth Prince, 38, of Ft. Thomas, KY passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015. She was the former owner of Ulysses Restaurant in Clifton. Raina is survived by her step father and mother, Roger and Ellen Prince; father and step mother, Lloyd and Nancy Woods; sister, Jessica (Kim) Rolf; brother, Jasun (Stephanie) Smith; nephew, Corbin Woods. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington St., Alexandria, KY.

Walter G. Thomas

Walter G. Thomas, 94, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Walt was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Campbell County VFW Post #3205; he was a self- employed electrician and also worked at VA Hospital in Ft. Thomas. Walt was an electrician at the Alexandria Fair Grounds for many years. He was a member of Saint Mary Parish of Alexandria, KY. Activities at church included, Monday Men, St. Vincent DePaul Society and St. Mary’s Seniors. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Father Dejaco Council #5220.  Walt was a member of Campbell County Historical Society and a volunteer for Habitat For Humanity in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berdie Thomas (nee Schalk). Walt is survived by his children, Carol (Terry) Weaver, Paul (Sandi) Thomas, Robert (Elaine) Thomas, Michael (Judy) Thomas, Lois (the late Tom) Arrowood and Kevin (Viola Perez) Thomas; grandchildren, Patrick Thomas, Samantha Underwood, Christopher Thomas, Carmen Weaver, Andy Thomas, Grace Thomas, Janette Guthrie and Alexandra Perez; sister, Emma Croxson. Visitation 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM Saturday September 5 will be held at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Alexandria, KY, Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM.
