Cheryl was born November 11, 1945 to the late Thurman and the late Martha (Colegrove) Kelley. Vicki Sue Voneye York

Vicki Sue Voneye York, age 68, of Melbourne, KY passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood, KY. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Nellie (nee Works) Voneye and her brother, Jerry Voneye. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, James L. York; two daughters, Angel (Jimmy) Morgan and Jerry Lynn (Glenn) Morgan; two brothers, Elwood Sterling and Danny Voneye; sister, Judy Voneye Hinds; four grandchildren, Brittany Morgan, Victoria Burchfield, Logan Burchfield, and Anthony Morgan; great-granddaughter, Peyton Bauer. Vicki cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was lovingly called “Nanny” by her grandchildren. Vicki was a treasure to her entire family and she will be missed by all who knew her. Betty Ruth Long (nee Barber), 92, formerly of Alexandria, KY,passed away Friday November 2, 2018 at the Golden Years Retirement Resort, Spring City, TN. Betty was born December 13, 1925 in Fullerton, KY, the daughter of the late William and the late Marinda (Greene) Barber. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Phillip Long. Ruth Carolyn Scharold

Ruth Carolyn Scharold (Formerly Mary Justus CDP 1951-1971), 86, of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at The Highlands of Fort Thomas. Ruth was born November 13, 1931 to her parents the Late Justus and Clara (Schultz) Scharold. Ruth graduated from Villa Madonna College and went on to Xavier University for her Master’s Degree in education. Ruth  taught many years as an elementary school teacher. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and loved to travel and play golf. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three siblings: Margaret Reis, Jay Scharold and Lorraine Dougherty. She is survived by four siblings: Celeste Harrison, William (Joan) Scharold, Louis (Barbara) Scharold and Judy (Joe) Ott; also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Saint Philip Church, 1404 Mary Ingles Hwy, Melbourne, KY 41059 from 9:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Thomas "Tom" Parnell

Thomas “Tom” Parnell, age 78, of Cold Spring, KY (formerly of Alexandria, KY) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY in presence of family. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was a retired industrial sales representative for Publicker Industries and later worked part-time for Smyth Automotive.   He was a member of Saint Mary Parish and Senior Club, Newport Elks Lodge 273, and the American Legion Post 219. Tom was also the proud creator of the “World Famous” Tibou's Cajun Magic Spice that has been enjoyed by many. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rita Parnell (nee Durkin); parents, Ed and Gert Parnell; brother, Chuck Parnell. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Russ) Thacker of Cold Spring and Lori (Todd) Sayers of Alexandria; grandson, Thomas Sayers; brother, Gary (Nadine) Parnell; sister-in-laws, Gayle Parnell and Carol Miller; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Emma Louise Hehman (nee Turner), age 83, of Alexandria, passed away on October 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Edgewood, KY. Emma enjoyed listening to country music and visiting local casinos to play her favorite slot machines. She loved spending time with her family and her fur grand doggie named Thor. He gave her much joy in the last year. She is survived by: husband, Doug Hehman; three sons, Kent (Karen Griffis), Todd (Jessica), and Eddie Hehman; brother, Asbury (Carole) Turner; niece, Peggy (Lynn) Martin; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Matthew, and Ben Hehman; also survived by a host of family and friends. Larry Singleton, 68, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Florence, Ky. Larry was a retired employee of Lasco Panels. He wasan Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Campbell County Game and Fish, Campbell County Bow Hunters and Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Larry was born December 18, 1949 in Dayton, KY to his parents the Late Clifford and Aggie (Watson) Singleton. He is survived by his wife, Angela D. Singleton (nee Bitter); three siblings: Dave (Peggy) Singleton, Mike (Joan) Singleton and Terry (Walter) Schuchart; also survived by many nieces and nephews and four beloved cats. . Linda Braun Winkler

Linda Braun Winkler, 64, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends. She fought a hard and courageous battle against Breast Cancer. She was born March 20, 1954 in Fort Thomas, to her late parents John and Laverne (Painter) Braun. Linda was a CPA for PNC Bank and worked until retirement at Proctor and Gamble. Throughout her life Linda loved to travel. Her adventures with family and friends took her around the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Linda was a dedicated lifelong member of First Twelve Mile Baptist Church. She was a true example of what Christ wants a Christian to be. Rose Welscher (nee Boberg), 77, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at HealthSouth Northern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital, Edgewood, KY. Rose retired after serving 25 years as City Clerk of Southgate, KY. She was a Kentucky Colonel and volunteered at the Parish Kitchen. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Theodore and Mildred (Fagedes) Boberg; six siblings: Claire Boberg, LaVerne Schute, Ken Boberg, Nick Boberg, Diane Beck and Rick Boberg. Kenneth Lee Boschert

Kenneth Lee Boschert, 59, of Butler, KY, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. Kenny was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Pendleton County Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. Kenny is survived by his wife, Linda Whitehead Boschert; three children: Kenneth Robert Boschert, Courtney Nicole Boschert and Gabby Boschert; four step-children: Christina Kusi, Justin Whitehead, Jeremy Whitehead and Herbert Shearer III; three grandchildren: Jaiden, Alanah and Maddi Boschert; nine step-grandchildren; six siblings: Raymond (Tammy) Boschert, John (Melinda) Boschert, Carol Cromer, Tommy Boschert, Tony Boschert and Robin (Gordon) Hitt. Louise Shewalter (nee Stockton), age 74, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. Louise was born to William and Vada Mae (nee Hurst) Stockton on August 22, 1944. She was a retired employee of CCL Label in Cold Spring, KY. Mary Rose Dunn (nee Cappilupo), 92, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Highlandspring of Fort Thomas. Mary retired after 35 years from Frisch’s where she started as one of the original car hops. She helped open restaurants in many states and also served as a manager. After her retirement from Frisch’s she worked at Walmart as a cashier. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Dunn and a daughter, Nancy Lederer. She is survived by: two daughters, Earlene (John) Eckert and Rosemary (Bill) Neiser; one sister, Jean Evoy; six grandchildren; sixteen great–grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Willa retired from the J C Penny CO, she was a volunteer at Saint Luke Hospital in Ft. Thomas and was a member of Christ Baptist Church of Cold Spring, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Marion Bernard Heideman, and one brother and two sisters. Richard retired from the printing trade, was a WWII Navy Veteran and operated the family business, Dietz Lakes of Camp Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dietz (nee Diamond). Richard is survived by two daughters, Sherryll (Oscar) Tucker and Lynn (Edward) Griffiths; five grandchildren, Jennifer Hogle, John Nelson, Scott Nelson, Elliott Clark and Casey Tucker; also survived by six great-grandchildren. Sylvia B. Montgomery, 85, of Fort Thomas, KY, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home. Sylvia was born April 26, 1933 to the late Ralph and the late Blanche (Smith) Montgomery. She was a retired employee of the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company and a lifelong member of Grant’s Lick Baptist Church. John Paul Collins

John "Paul" Collins, age 77, of Alexandria, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Elizabeth, Florence, KY. He was self-employed. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a former member of the Masonic Lodge, Covington, KY. Paul lived his life to the fullest and loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered for being a great story teller. Nancy Marie Lederer (nee Dunn), age 71, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood. Nancy was a retired tax examiner for the I.R.S., a former EMT for the Alexandria Fire Department and was active with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a former interior decorator for Home Interiors and Gifts. Nancy was a member of St. Mary Church, Alexandria, KY and formerly served on the bereavement committee. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary L. Lederer, Sr.; mother, Mary Dunn; children, Gary (Julie) Lederer, Jr., Tony (Lori) Lederer, Gina (Justin) Verst and Aarron Lederer; sisters, Earlene (John) Eckert and Rosemary (Bill) Neiser; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Thomas William Wendling Jr., age 83, of Cold Spring, KY passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018. Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, KY. He actively volunteered putting up crosses for the Right To Life organization. He was also a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen C. Mary Pat was involved and enjoyed dancing, scouting, ceramics and sewing. Helen Mildred White (nee Alford), age 102, of Alexandria, KY passed into Gloryland July 8, 2018 at the Seasons of Alexandria.  A Godly homemaker married to Chester C. White for 72 years.  She was preceded in death by Chester; her parents, John Warren Alford and Lillie Painter Alford; sister, Florence Burt; brother, Woodrow Alford.  She leaves behind three children, Martha Sue (Kenneth) Hopkins, Joyce Lee (John, deceased) Christopher and Dennis Ray (Mary) White; sister, Evelyn Mae Bundy; 8 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A member of Licking Valley Baptist Church, Helen became a born-again Christian as a girl and was baptized in the creek at 1st Twelve Mile Baptist Church.  Helen taught Sunday school to young girls for over 35 years and was a faithful and devoted wife and mother. Thomas Edward Overstreet, 86, of Silver Grove, KY, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. George Shanks

George Shanks, voracious reader and renowned baritone, died June 13, 2018. He was a retired Machinist from Fischer Specialty Manufacturing and lifelong member of First Twelve Mile Baptist Church. An inscrutable man, those who thought they knew him, didn’t.  Those who did know him, wished they knew him better. He was a lover of plants, animals and the occasional person.  He is loved and missed by his wife, Frankie Avon (nee Painter); his children, Wyatt Ray and daughter-in-law Maria, Wendy Renee, Wayde Ryan and daughter-in-law Glenna C. Florence (Seek) Kinney Edwards, age 93, of Grant’s Lick, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and served as hostess for 30 plus years. She was an active member of the WMU and former treasurer. She was an honorary member of the Alexandria Fair board for many years. She was retired from Alexandria Elementary Cafeteria. She was also a homemaker and took great pride in her home and was an excellent cook. She was the devoted wife of William Edwards who preceded her in death in 2004. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Martin with whom she lived since the passing of her husband, Pam (Danny) Cade and Sally (Bob) Reis; brother, Joseph Gordon (Oma Nell) Kinney; sister in law, Florence Kinney; 9 grandchildren, Melissa (Jerry) Laker, Billy (Kathy) Martin, Douglas ( Amanda ) Martin, Amy (Dan) Razor, Bryan (Christy) Cade, Joe ( Janie ) Reis, Elizabeth (Bill) Delaney, Jeffrey Reis and Rebecca (Phil) Geiman;18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren;  9 step-great-grandchildren; also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Ethel Hitch. Imogene "Jean" Back

Imogene (Jean) Miller Back, 89, of Cold Spring passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her residence surrounded by family. She met and married James E. Back while attending Berea College. They came to Campbell County in 1954. She gave hundreds of children in Campbell County a great educational foundation as a kindergarten teacher at Alexandria United Methodist Church. She was a member of Valley Homemakers and Crazy Quilters Quilt Club. She used her love of sewing to help provide comfort to countless hospice patients through her participation in the Comfort Club of Bluegrass Hospice Care. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria but also attended Christ Baptist Church in Cold Spring. Survivors include her son, Mike (Andrea) Back of Roswell, GA; daughters, Vicki (Jerry) Foley of California and Maggie (John) McGatha of Louisville; sisters, Louise Lanhan of Mason, OH; Carol (Jay) Langhurst of Chapel Hill, NC; and Geraldine (Bill) Barnes of Destin, FL; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, May 27 at Alexandria Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. JoAnne Eva Leonard, 78, formerly of Cincinnati Ohio, passed away suddenly April 23rd, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Lillie Leonard, brother, Dale Leonard and sister, Mae Leonard Neiman and brother-in-law, Winfield Neiman. She is survived by brother, Neil Leonard (Pearl Osburg Leonard), nieces, Sarah Neiman Sturgeon (Brian), Denise Leonard Govan (Dave), great nieces, Nicole and Abby Sturgeon, Haley Govan and great nephew, David Govan, and many, many friends. She was a graduate of Campbell County High School, Alexandria KY and a graduate of Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH. She was a retired registered nurse and spent the last 22 years of her career as a Hospice nurse in Florida. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati OH. Robert Lee Baldridge

Robert Lee Baldridge, 90, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Robert was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked for CSX Railroad as conductor for 35 years. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Silver Grove. He loved the outdoors and was an avid trout fisherman. Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Baldridge (nee Wood); 5 children: Diana (Rick) Estepp, Robert (Jacqueline) Baldridge, Thomas (Shelly) Baldridge, Glen Baldridge and James (Peggy) Baldridge; 13 grandchildren: Robin, Kelli, Rachel, Kristin, Alexandra, Lauren, Lindsey, Molly, Emily, Bobby, Ricky, Jordan and Andrew; 7 great grandchildren who lovingly called him “Big Papaw”: Noah, Miles, Isaac, Thomas, Ellie, Maci and Freddie; 4 surviving siblings: Kenneth (Peggy) Baldridge, Joe Baldridge, Gertie Etheridge and Dot Wagner. Visitation Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Alexandria Funeral Home. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Imogene Jenkins Wise

Imogene Jenkins Wise (nee Rose), age 81, of Cold Spring, KY (formerly of Falmouth, KY) passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Highlandspring of Ft. Thomas. Imogene was a longtime member of Turner Ridge Baptist Church in Falmouth.  She is preceded in death by her parents, George Rose and Ella Frances Rose Hoggatt (nee Adams). She is survived by her children, Peggy (Steve) Craig, Ricky (Tammy) Jenkins, Rosann (Tom Lutkenhoff) Jenkins, and  Steven (Rebecca) Jenkins; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17th from 5PM to 7PM with the Funeral Service immediately following at 7PM. George Clinton "Clint" Carmack Jr.

George Clinton “Clint” Carmack, Jr. of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the age of 63. Clint was born to parents George Clinton “Sonny” Carmack, Sr., and Freda Rosella “Rosie” Camack on July 30, 1954, in Alexandria, KY. Loving siblings are Terry (Linda) Carmack, Mindy (Kirk) Painter (nee Carmack), and Doug (Ella) Carmack, proceeded in death by Theresa Carmack. He grew up as the second of five children. Clint attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, and Bishop Brossart High School both in Alexandria, KY.  Activities included Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department, participating in numerous professional state speech contests, and served in the banking industry for years including Clifton Southgate Federal, and Kentucky Federal.  Clint is survived by his current wife, Jenny, children Kim Carmack (Kevin) Galbaugh, and George Clinton “Bubba” Carmack, III, stepson Brandon (Vanessa) Mitchell, and Thomas (Shamira) Mitchell, Grandchildren Devyn Galbaugh, Cayson Mitchell, London Mitchell and Lalou Mitchell. Memorial visitation will be held at Alexandria Funeral Home on Monday, April 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, April 10th at 10:00 AM.  The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.

Dinford “Dee” Gibson, 91, of Independence, KY, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home. Dinford was retired and previously worked for Baldwin Piano, Ammon Nursey and Crescent Paper Tube Company and served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Phillip) Long; two grandsons: Aaron & Joshua Long; great granddaughter, Bailey Long. Services are at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery, Barbourville, KY. Alexandria Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
