JoAnne Leonard

JoAnne Eva Leonard, 78, formerly of Cincinnati Ohio, passed away suddenly April 23rd, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Lillie Leonard, brother, Dale Leonard and sister, Mae Leonard Neiman and brother-in-law, Winfield Neiman. She is survived by brother, Neil Leonard (Pearl Osburg Leonard), nieces, Sarah Neiman Sturgeon (Brian), Denise Leonard Govan (Dave), great nieces, Nicole and Abby Sturgeon, Haley Govan and great nephew, David Govan, and many, many friends. She was a graduate of Campbell County High School, Alexandria KY and a graduate of Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH. She was a retired registered nurse and spent the last 22 years of her career as a Hospice nurse in Florida. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati OH. Donations made in her honor will go to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL  33760.

Sonja Martin Ramey

Sonja Marie Ramey (nee Martin), 71, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at her home. Sonja was an employee of Meijer, Cold Spring, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Marie Fraley Martin. Robert Lee Baldridge

Robert Lee Baldridge, 90, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Robert was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked for CSX Railroad as conductor for 35 years. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Silver Grove. He loved the outdoors and was an avid trout fisherman. Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Baldridge (nee Wood); 5 children: Diana (Rick) Estepp, Robert (Jacqueline) Baldridge, Thomas (Shelly) Baldridge, Glen Baldridge and James (Peggy) Baldridge; 13 grandchildren: Robin, Kelli, Rachel, Kristin, Alexandra, Lauren, Lindsey, Molly, Emily, Bobby, Ricky, Jordan and Andrew; 7 great grandchildren who lovingly called him “Big Papaw”: Noah, Miles, Isaac, Thomas, Ellie, Maci and Freddie; 4 surviving siblings: Kenneth (Peggy) Baldridge, Joe Baldridge, Gertie Etheridge and Dot Wagner. Imogene Jenkins Wise

Imogene Jenkins Wise (nee Rose), age 81, of Cold Spring, KY (formerly of Falmouth, KY) passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Highlandspring of Ft. Thomas. Imogene was a longtime member of Turner Ridge Baptist Church in Falmouth.  She is preceded in death by her parents, George Rose and Ella Frances Rose Hoggatt (nee Adams). She is survived by her children, Peggy (Steve) Craig, Ricky (Tammy) Jenkins, Rosann (Tom Lutkenhoff) Jenkins, and  Steven (Rebecca) Jenkins; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17th from 5PM to 7PM with the Funeral Service immediately following at 7PM. George Clinton "Clint" Carmack Jr.

George Clinton “Clint” Carmack, Jr. of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the age of 63. Clint was born to parents George Clinton “Sonny” Carmack, Sr., and Freda Rosella “Rosie” Camack on July 30, 1954, in Alexandria, KY. Loving siblings are Terry (Linda) Carmack, Mindy (Kirk) Painter (nee Carmack), and Doug (Ella) Carmack, proceeded in death by Theresa Carmack. He grew up as the second of five children. Clint attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, and Bishop Brossart High School both in Alexandria, KY.  Activities included Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department, participating in numerous professional state speech contests, and served in the banking industry for years including Clifton Southgate Federal, and Kentucky Federal.  Clint is survived by his current wife, Jenny, children Kim Carmack (Kevin) Galbaugh, and George Clinton “Bubba” Carmack, III, stepson Brandon (Vanessa) Mitchell, and Thomas (Shamira) Mitchell, Grandchildren Devyn Galbaugh, Cayson Mitchell, London Mitchell and Lalou Mitchell. Memorial visitation will be held at Alexandria Funeral Home on Monday, April 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday, April 10th at 10:00 AM.  The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.

Dinford was retired and previously worked for Baldwin Piano, Ammon Nursey and Crescent Paper Tube Company and served in the United States Army during WWII. Richard "Bill" Racke

Richard “Bill” Racke, 70, of Alexandria, KY, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Mt. Washington Care Center, Mt. Washington, OH. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. Bill was a retired over the road truck driver for Yellow Roadway. George William Sederberg, 84, formerly of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, KY. George was a retired employee of Cincinnati Milacron and also served in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Jane Sederberg (nee Furio). Richard "Dick" Pichotta

Richard “Dick” Pichotta, 68, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at home. Dick was known at work, Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing, as “The Chief Painter”. He was a member of IUPAT DC-6 Mixed Trades Local # 238 and Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish. Dick also served in the Army Reserve. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pichotta (nee Enzweiler); three daughters: Laura (Dan) Berkemeyer, Karen (Joe) Kilburn and Kelly Pichotta; four siblings: James Pichotta, Gail Connley, Jeanette (Don) Conway, and Patty (Steve) Scharstein; eight grandchildren, Julia, Tabatha, Drew, Deena, Evan, Haley, Madeline, and Bella. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Pichotta; parents, Martin and Juanita (nee Lannum) Pichotta; four siblings, June Lauer, Bobby Garman, Clarence “Pee Wee” Garman, and William Garman. Paul Richard Jolly

     Paul Richard Jolly passed away from heart failure on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY. Paul was born on June 9, 1951 to Gordon B. Jolly (deceased) and Norma Lee (Cann) Jolly who survives. He is also survived by one sister Linda Lee Jolly and sister-in-law Diana M. Vogt. Paul was raised in a large family of close aunts, uncles and cousins and had several friends that he loved dearly. During the past year Paul began a new relationship with his biological daughter Jasmine Irvin and her family.
     A 1969 graduate of Campbell County High School, Paul studied music at Morehead State University. Jolly played clarinet and bagpipes in the Campbell County High Band, but his life-long musical career began in earnest when he picked up his first guitar at age fourteen. Jolly became a popular entertainer in the Cincinnati area during the 1970s. In the mid-1990s he, along with his then-wife Beverly Tiemeyer Jolly, established the CMA, Children’s Music Association in Blue Ash. This was an innovative studio that engaged children in music using keyboards and computers.
     Throughout his life Paul held several jobs, including sales and store management for the Willis Music Company. Jolly’s passion was his music. As a singer/songwriter he self-produced one CD of his original music. A few of his songs are posted on the Reverb Nation website. In spite of the health challenges of recent years, Jolly continued to perform occasionally in Northern Kentucky and to encourage community among other musicians by hosting open-mic nights.
     A memorial service will be held in Northern Kentucky on June 9, 2018 at a location to be announced.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, or just give your next waitress a really big tip as Paul would have done.

Martha M. Steffen

Martha M. Steffen (nee Geiger), age 89, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Seasons of Alexandria. Martha loved being a homemaker and was a former housekeeper for Lakeside Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Alexandria, KY and the Senior Citizen’s Club. Martha also enjoyed playing cards and going to Bingo and she loved to win. She was preceded in death by her son, David A. Steffen and her granddaughter, Christy Mulberry. She is survived by her children, Sue Woeste (Garry), Rose Ann Steffen (Steve), Judy Griffith (Harold), Mary Lauer (Leroy), Margaret Griffith (Tony), and Donald Steffen (Marylu); 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, Alexandria, KY on Friday, March 23rd at 10am. Helen G. Schultz (nee True), 72, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday at home. Helen was a hairdresser and had her own salon, Beauty Barn and she previously worked at EJ’s. Helen was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Alexandria, KY and Campbell County Seniors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mabel (nee Hubb) True, two sisters, Susan Haynes and Marilyn Neil, two brothers, Bob and Michael True. Helen is survived by her husband of 27 years, Allan Schultz; two daughters, Stephanie (Joe) Zink and Kimberly Falhbush; three sisters, Phyllis Joseph, Barbara True and Melinda (Richard) Tate; two brothers, Thomas (Roxanne) True and Jack True; six grandchildren, Jonathan Zink, Summer Zink, Jazmyn Fahlbush, Julia Fahlbush, Jensen Fahlbush and Jakob Fahlbush. Melvin C. Boden

Melvin C. Boden, 86, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Melvin was a General Contractor (Boden Builders Inc.). A member of Alexandria United Methodist Church, Alexandria, KY, where he liked doing things around the Church with a couple other guys and they were lovingly called the "Three Grumpy Old Men". He served in the USAF with the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War. He loved woodworking and crafts which he donated and gave to friends and family. He was a big UK basketball fan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Thelma M. Boden (nee Benedict); two sons, David Allen Boden and Rick James Boden (Peggy Marie); four grandchildren, Nathan James Boden, Seth Allen Boden, Emily Marie Boden and Dr. Sarah Ashley Boden. Services were at the convenience of the family. Entombment was in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, Southgate, KY. Mavin A. Record

Marvin A. Record, age 74, of California, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his residence. Marvin was a graduate of Pendleton County High School Class of 1962. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served during Vietnam. After his service in the Army his military pride continued on as an active member of the Campbell County VFW Post 3205 and the American Legion Post 219. He retired from Cincinnati Bell after 37 years of employment. Marvin was also an active member of the Campbell Co. Historical Society, Pendleton Co. Historical Society, and Sts. Peter and Paul Parish.  He was the former Chief for the Northern Pendleton Volunteer Fire Department, a bus driver for Bishop Brossart High School, and also volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Marvin is survived by his wife, Angela “Ann” (nee Gerhardstein) Record; mother, Martha Ann (nee Massey) Record; children, Andrea Record (William Chenot), Larry Record (Becky), Edwin Record (Tina), Rebecca Phirman (Ryan), Sarah Wyrick (Clint), Daniel Record (Lisa), Adam Record (Katie Riley), Joannah Bauer (Jeremy), and Benjamin Record (Lauren); siblings, Sanford Record (Harriet), Steve Record (Carol), Elaine Kunz (Kenn), and Lee Record (Michelle); also survived by 22 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Mary Linda Hervey Goebel

Mary Linda Hervey Goebel (nee Erisman), 92, Mentor, KY , passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, KY. Mary Linda was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Mentor Baptist Church, Mentor, KY and was the pianist for 60+ years. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry J. Hervey and J.V. Goebel and her parents, Thomas W. and Anna Ruth (nee Jordan) Erisman. Mary Linda is survived by three children, Tom (Connie) Hervey, Linda (late Bob) Young and Ruth (Ray Cummins) Hervey; one sister, JoAnn Moore; six grandchildren, Travis Hervey, Nic (Laura) Hervey, Paul (Stephanie) McCormick, Aaron (Karen) McCormick, Jonathan (Sara) Goebel and Jeremy (Emily) Goebel; also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren. Deb Stegeman (nee Heringer), age 66, passed away peacefully at Christ Hospital March 1, 2018. Deb was a nurse for 43 years at St. Luke\St. Elizabeth Hospital Fort Thomas. Deb is survived by husband, Thomas Stegeman; sons, Ryan Stormer and Adam Stegeman; daughter, Hollie Johnson; brothers, Wayne and Jerry Heringer; also by 7.9 grandchildren. Ellen “Joyce” Beal (nee Hardy), 87, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home. Joyce was a retired administrative assistant for the American Red Cross and also worked for Campbell County Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Beal and a son, David Beal. Mary Lee Jolly (nee Eckerle), 87, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at the River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, KY. Mary Lee was a member of Main Street Baptist Church of Alexandria, KY. She enjoyed taking care of her home and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Shelby Renee Hodge

Shelby Renee Hodge, age 26, of Florence, KY passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018.  Shelby was a 2010 graduate of Campbell County High School.  She was a delivery driver for LaRosa’s Pizza in Florence and a member of Plum Creek Christian Church, Butler, KY. Shelby was also a 2017 graduate of the Brighton Recovery Center for Women. She is survived by her mother, Kim (Brad Stroup) Hodge; father, Arthur Hodge; brother, Stephen Hodge; grandparents, Steve and Sally Mefford; aunts, Krista (Jesse) Lyke, Claire and Karen Hodge; uncle, Todd (Laurie) Mefford; cousins, Gracie and Mitch Mefford; also survived by a host of family and friends. Thomas L. Boehne, 63, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at home. Tom was a retired terminal operator for Kinder-Morgan. He is survived by his fiancée, Joyce Thompson; daughter, Jennifer Donaldson (Brian Thompson); son, David Martin (Kristi); grandchildren, Kaleb, Kegan, Jude, Jocelyn & Brady; sister, Patricia Sparks (Jim); brothers, John Boehne (Joann) & Chuck Boehne (Donna); step-children, Brandon Thompson (Heather) & Paula Fryman (Rob). Brandon, age 23, Taylor, age 22, Brendon, age 21 months and Isabella, age 7 months died together in a traffic accident in Cold Spring on February 6, 2018. Brandon is survived by his father, Gregory Alford, his mother, Patricia Lawson (Tony Holt) Alford, his grandmother, Maymie Alford, and his brothers and sisters; Alicia Brossart, Danielle Orr, Bradley and Joshua Alford.  Taylor is survived by her mother, Peggy Pollit, her father, Robert Bridewell, her parents, Tina and Jerry Koch, her grandmother, Suzanne Scheck, her brothers and sisters; Justin, Tiffany and Kristen Pollit, Danielle Sandlin, Matthew, Michelle, Maria, Melissa Brandon and Tori Koch. The family will be mourned by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St Mary Church, Alexandria, KY, from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM. Melvin E. Spaulding

Melvin E. Spaulding, age 86, of Alexandria died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Cold Spring Transitional Care Center.  He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of the Campbell County V.F.W. Post 3205.  He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and worked for 37 years for General Electric as an engineer. He also served on the Planning and Zoning Board and council in the late 60’s to the mid 70’s in Alexandria. He was preceded in by his wife, Nola J. Spaulding in 1976. Survived by his son, Michael D. (Deborah) Spaulding of Alexandria; two step-granddaughters, Shannon and Brandy; two step great-grandchildren, Michaela and Espen. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9th from 9am to 11am with the Funeral Service immediately following at the Alexandria Funeral Home. Lois Jean Youtsey (nee Cox), age 82, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Jack M. Moore, age 82, of Melbourne, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Jack worked for Butternut Bread as a fleet mechanic for 47 years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Georgetta (nee Lonemann) Moore; his daughter, Melissa Ann Moore; his siblings, Shirley Pearson and Leonard Moore. Harold "Hod" Kinney

Harold “Hod” Kinney, 87, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at The Seasons of Alexandria. Hod retired from the CSX Railroad as a General Manager. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by three sons, Mike, Jim and infant Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence E. Shirley L. Baldinger

Shirley L. Baldinger (nee Grosardt), age 91, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. She was a former cosmetologist and formerly worked in the cafeteria for Campbell County Schools for 23 years. Shirley was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Alexandria, KY. She participated in Sunday School, Bible School, Women's Guild, cooked for the soup kitchen, Lawn Fetes, Me & Thee, and sang in the choir for 20 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star #137. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce C. Baldinger, in 2003. She is survived by her two daughters, Charlene (the late Wayne) Rogers and Diane Weber; and one granddaughter, Julie Weber. Larry Rodgers

Larry Rodgers, 76, of California, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 14th at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired inspector with ADT Security Services (45 years) and was currently working as a Meat Clerk at Kroger. Larry was also an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Mildred Rodgers and cousin, Jo-Ann Barnett. Larry is survived by his loving spouse of 37 years, Carolyn Rodgers (nee. Ruf); 2 daughters, Barb (James) Farney & Missy (Jeff) Simons; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Cassie, Amanda & Alex, and 7 great grandchildren. Kenneth F. Bundy

Kenneth F. Bundy, age 82, of Alexandria, passed away on January 14, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY. Ken was a retired Master Sergeant for the U.S. Airforce. He was also an electrical vocational school teacher for 20 years and drove tour buses in Cincinnati, OH and Yuma, AZ. Ken was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church in Melbourne, KY where he and his wife founded the Bread of Life Food Pantry. He was also a member of the Alexandria Lions Club and the Alexandria Masonic Lodge 152. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arline M. Bundy (nee Wielbruda). He is survived by his two sons, Kevin (Brad) Bundy, Keith (Jolynne) Bundy; sister, Diana Bundy; step-mother Evelyn Bundy; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held at Alexandria Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17th from 5pm to 8pm. A second visitation will be on Thursday, January 18th at Saint John Lutheran Church, 5977 Lower Tug Fork Rd, Melbourne, KY 41059 from 9am until time of Funeral Service at 10am. Donald G. Mutsch

Donald G. Mutsch, age 63, of Wilder, KY passed away on  January 10, 2018. Donald was a retired Elevator Mechanic for Otis Elevator Company, Cincinnati, OH. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Alexandria, the Bob White Club, and the Elevator Constructors Union Local 11. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his favorite thing in life was being a father. He took great pride in his son's athletic accomplishments, faithfully following and attending various sporting events from pre-school to the Xavier University. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica (nee Chaput) Mutsch. He is survived by his son, Nathan Mutsch; his son's mother, Karen Mutsch; brother, Doug (Angie) Mutsch.  A Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, Alexandria on Monday, January 15th at 10am. Beatrice Martin Menning

Beatrice Martin Menning (nee Quitter), 89, of Alexandria, KY, passed away January 1, 2018 at home. Beatrice was a homemaker and a member of Saint Mary Seniors. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Brian) Keenan, Janet (Doug) Hatfield, Marilyn (John) Kramer and Marty (Lou) Ball; brother, Ralph (Marge) Quitter; step-children, Kendra Evans, Margaret Mohr, Mary O’Brien, Karen, Dennis, Darryl, Richard and Jeff Menning; eleven grandchildren seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ethan Williams

Ethan Daniel Tyler Williams, 27, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017.  Ethan was born October 13, 1990 in Bowling Green, KY to Charles and Debbie (nee Payne) Williams.  He was a graduate of Campbell County High School.  Ethan worked in the shipping industry, performed in the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and was also an amateur musician.  He had a love for all things musical and loved listening to and writing music.  He was proficient with the French horn, mellophone, bass guitar, and keyboards.  His sense of humor and use of puns were always a source of laughter and will be sorely missed.  He is survived by his parents; girlfriend, Kara Ridder; two brothers, Phillip (Rachel) Williams, Joseph (Katherine) Williams; also survived by his nephew Gale Williams and three foster-nephews.  Ethan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Charles and Allie (nee Hudson) Williams and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Katherine (nee Hawks) Payne.  He will forever live on in the hearts and minds of the many lives that he touched as a friend, brother, son, and loved one. Jerry Painter

Jerry E. Painter, 76, of California, KY, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at home. Jerry is survived by his wife, Janet Painter (nee Dean); three children, Mark (Kim) Painter, Kim (Doug) Holzschuh and Todd (Tamara) Painter; seven grandchildren, Leah (Jared Harper) Painter and Josiah Painter, Lauren (Ronny) Young, Tyler (Kelsey Disney) Holzschuh, Noah Holzschuh; Abby (Noah) Marshall, and TJ Painter; two great-grandchildren, Wesley Marshall and Killian Young; three siblings, Bob Painter, Pat (Dave) Cox and Bertha Meighen; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Painter; parents, Lawrence and Clara Belle (Cryer) Painter, and a brother, Dallas Painter. Jerry was a retired machinist and worked 18 years for American Tool Works and 25 years for Fischer Special Manufacturing. Jerry was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and was a founding member of the building committee. Over the years, he worked on the Church for two different remodels and additions. He was an avid hunter, loved fishing, camping and thoroughly enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn.  His children and grandchildren were a particular source of pride.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Oakland United Methodist Church, located at  7867 Stonehouse Road, Melbourne, KY 41059 beginning at 10:00 AM.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM immediately following visitation.
