Mary Jane Schack

Mary Jane Schack, age 80 of California passed away on December 12, 2018 at her home.  She was born to the late William "Bo" and Marie Schlarman on September 14, 1938. Mary Jane graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1956 and enjoyed traveling with her longtime friends, "The '56 Chicks".  She worked at Western Southern, Bishop Brossart High School and as a homemaker.  She married the love of her life, Linus on May 19, 1962.  Mary Jane was an active member of the community and enjoyed volunteering for the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Sts. Peter and Paul.  She  served as a director on the Alexandria Fair Board for nearly 20 years and also served on the Teen Pageant Committee of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows. Mary Jane's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Linus.  She is survived by her four children, Mike (Janet), Jim (Milissa), Jennifer (Ron) Holtz and Laura (Bob) Richardson. Her 13 grandchildren include Miranda, Jessica, James, Zack, Erin, John, Mary Beth, Emily, Rebecca, Maria, Justin, Joe and Jason.  She had 8 great-grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her siblings Bill (Judy), Dan and Anne (Jack). Mary Jane was also preceded in death by her brother Bob (Betty) and her sister-in-law Mary Schlarman. Mary Jane's visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Sunday December 16th from 3pm til 7pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Church on Monday December 17th at 10:30 am. Donations can be made to Bishop Brossart High School Mustangs Athletic Complex or Sts. Peter and Paul Tuition Assistance program.

    Kevin and I extend our condolences and prayers to your family during this very difficult time. I just lost my mother and there is no greater pain. Just know that we are praying to God that he comfort you during the grieving process and holidays.
