James F. Ogden
James
F. “Jim” Ogden, 82, of Fort Thomas, KY, went to his “Heavenly Home” February 4,
2014 from the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, KY. Jim was a lawyer for 42
years, moderator of the Northern KY Baptist Assn., board member of Holly Hill Children’s
Home and Evergreen Cemetery. He was also a deacon, Sunday school teacher and lay
worship leader at the First Baptist Church of Newport, KY. He served in the Army
as a rifle instructor during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by
his daughter, Darinda Lynn Ogden-Nilsen (former flight attendant for Comair).
Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Staggs Ogden; two sisters, Ruth
DeJarnette of Fort Thomas and Vera Lee Henson of Southgate, KY; also survived
by many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be at First Baptist
Church, 801 York St, Newport, KY 41071 on Sunday, March 23rd beginning at 3pm. Memorials are suggested to the church to provide free music lessons for youth.

Jim was very much a gentleman.
ReplyDeleteJim's life was inclusive to all. He was a wonderful mentor and friend. His faith in God was reflected in all the good work he did. His intelligent humor was much appreciated. His light will always be bright.
