Robert L. Scharfenberger, age 88, of California, KY passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, KY. He served in the Army Air Force and was a retired railroad signal inspector for CSX Railroad, formerly Chessie System Railroad. He was a member of the Campbell Co. VFW Post 3205, Alexandria United Methodist Church and the Happy 100's. Mr. Scharfenberger is survived by his loving wife of 66yrs, Lena Scharfenberger; and his son, Brent (Anita) Scharfenberger. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with services beginning at 1:00pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY. Interment will be in the Peach Grove Cemetery, Peach Grove, KY. Memorials are suggested to: Alexandria United Methodist Church, 8286 W. Main St, Alexandria, KY 41001.
