Philip M. Smith



Philip M. Smith, 92, of Alexandria, KY., died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Highland Spring of Fort Thomas, KY. He was born May 18, 1919 in Grant's Lick, KY. His parents were Grover & Georgia (Schafer) Smith. He retired after 27 years of service from General Electric in Cincinnati, OH. He was also a farmer & former owner\operator of Phil & Joy’s Grocery in Grant‘s Lick, KY. He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of Aspen Grove Lodge #397 Alexandria, KY. He is survived by his wife Joy Hartman Smith; two sons, Jerry (Carrie) Smith & Jeff (Tracy) Smith.; three sisters, Marie Thornton, Etta Mae Sills & Imogene Johnston Harrison; three grandchildren Natalie, Nathan & Kristin. Visitation 10:00 AM – 12:45 PM Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Fairlane Baptist Church Alexandria, KY., with masonic services at 12:45 PM & funeral services following at 1:00 PM at the church. Betty "Schnitzler" Williams, age 78, of Highland Heights, KY, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Saint Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY. She Loved both her family, and her neighborhood. Betty also served on Highland Heights City Counsel. She is survived by her husband Luther Williams Sr., Daughter: Bev "Williams" Haigis; Sons: Luther and Gary Williams; Sisters: Martha Paynter, Ruth West, JoAnn Keeler; Three Brothers: Dave, Gail and Norman Schnitzler.

Dolores Gunkel Franzen, 83, of Melbourne, KY., died Friday, July 15, 2011 at home. She was a homemaker & a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward N. Franzen Jr. She is survived by four sons: Jeffrey, Douglas, Gary & Patrick Franzen.; five sisters: Marcella Schlosser, Mildred Heiert, Edna Wagner, Florence Chalk & Ruth Walker. Betty Long

Betty J. Long(Robinson) born July 2, 1946, went to be with the Lord on July 8,2011. She was the daughter of Henry and Alice Robinson. She is survived by her loving husband Erman Long (Sonny), 9 children: Tammy, Ginger, Stan, Brian, Mark, Gary, Viki, Jimmy, and Jennifer. She is also survived by two brothers Larry and James Robinson, 23 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren. Visitation at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Monday, July 11th from 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral Service with be on Tuesday, July 12th at 9:00AM at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Kenneth Albert Springer, age 78, of Butler, KY, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, KY. Springer was a former truck driver for Frisch's. He served in the US Air Force for 8 years. He was preceded in death by his late wife Effie Springer in 1992, and Mary Ann Springer (2011).
He is Survived by five Daughters: Debra(Rollie) Hubbard, Karen (Eddie) Fettersr, Kathy (William) Jacobs, Donna (Steve) Chonet, and Mary (Dave) Baker; Brothers, Irvin Springer and Allen Springer; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
