Rosemary Seiter

Rosemary Seiter (nee Henderson), 86, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills, KY. Rosemary was retired and previously worked as a Proof Transit Supervisor for Fifth Third and PNC Banks. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward “Butch” Seiter in 1971. She is survived by a son, Mike (Sue) Seiter; two grandsons, Justin (Courtney) Seiter and Kevin (Kristen) Seiter; a great-granddaughter, Elliott Seiter. Visitation Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with the funeral service immediately following at the Alexandria Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Alexandria Cemetery.

James "JB" Brossart


James R. Brossart, of Covington, KY, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Saint Elizabeth Edgewood. J. B. was a retired powder coat technician for Powder Coat Industries, Newport, KY. He is survived by his wife, Linda Brossart (nee Beck); two sons, James Newton and Shawn; daughter, Janet Brossart; two step daughters, Irene Beck and Evelyn Burgess; two sisters, Paula Kratzmeier and Lucy Roth; seven brothers, Donald, Bernard, Richard, Jerry, Ronald, Francis and Fredrick Brossart; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, KY.  Memorials can be made to Linda Brossart.

Mary Louise Short

Mary Louise Short (nee Ziegler), age 90, of California, KY most recently residing at the Barrington of Ft. Thomas, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Norman B. Short in 2014.  Mary is survived by her three sons, Wayne, Mike, and Ron Short; brother, Thomas Ziegler; sister, Sandra Penick; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mary was the oldest living member of First Twelve Mile Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 10am to 12pm at the First Twelve Mile Baptist Church, 3288 Oneonta Rd, California, KY 41007 with the Funeral Service immediately following at 12pm. Interment will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery, Carthage, KY.  Memorial Donations are suggested to: First Twelve Mile Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Alexandria Funeral Home.

Wanda S. Painter

Wanda S. Painter, age 89, of Alexandria, KY passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Wanda was a 1944 graduate of Holmes High School. Mrs. Painter was a beloved and active member of her community. She was a member of the VFW Post 3205 Ladies Auxillary, Alexandria Fair Board, Alexandria Homemakers, Cincinnati Women’s Art Club, Bridge Club, Campbell County Historical Society, and was active with the Women’s Health Initiative. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Painter in 1985. Survived by her sons, Fenton (Barbara) Painter, Scott (Marie) Painter, and Brian (Sulinda) Painter; grandchildren, Amy Painter, Kelly Painter Kampsen, and Matthew Painter.  A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at 7pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home. Memorial Donations are suggested to: St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S. Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017.

John "Bert" Keating

John Joseph “Bert” Keating, age 81, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.  Mr. Keating worked as a Principal and Administrator for Covington Independent Schools for over 50yrs. He was a member of St. Mary Parish in Alexandria, St. Mary Seniors Club, and the KOC Fr. DeJaco Council #5220. John is survived by his wife of 57 yrs MaryAnn (nee Groneck) Keating; children, Kathy (John) McGee, John (Terri Hessling) Keating, Diane (Andy) Dischar, Patty Keating, and Jim Keating; sister, Ruth Helen Durstock; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Mary Parish, 8246 E. Main St., Alexandria, KY 41001. Vivian Pope Wolfzorn

Vivian Pope Wolfzorn, age 91, of Cold Spring passed away on March 11, 2016. Vivian was a member of Christ Baptist Church, Cold Spring, KY and the Past Worthy Matron of the Gertrude Chapter of the Eastern Star, Newport, KY. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Pope in 2006. Vivian is survived by her husband, Leo Wolfzorn; daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Goetz; step-children, Sherry Wolfzorn Jump, David (Lori) Wolfzorn, and Thomas (Barbara) Wolfzorn; grandchildren, James Gregory Goetz, Jamie Goetz Mills, Lori Brandstetter, Michelle Stamper; step-grandchildren, Christopher Jump, Kelsey and Andrew Wolfzorn; also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Desirae Hensley

Desirae Nicole Hensley, age 30, and her daughter, Jakyra Kalia Nicole Cundiff, age 8, of Alexandria, KY, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Cold Spring, KY. Desirae was a stay at home Mom and Jakyra a student at Reiley Elementary School. Desirae is survived by her parents, Jenni and Jon McBride and Jimmy Ray Hensley (Jakyra’s grandparents); Desirae’s children, Tatiana Pauly, Quinten Pauly and Faith Pauly (Jakyra’s brother and sisters); fiancĂ©, Jason Pauly; a sister, Nakia McBride (Jakyra’s aunt); three brothers, Jeremy (Ashley) Hensley, Jordan (Amanda) Deardorff and Kenny Hensley (Jakyra’s aunts and uncles); grandparents, Pat and Dick Musk, Rosie and the late Kenny Hensley (Jakyra’s great-grandparents); many nieces and nephews left behind. Joan Sprague

Joan Frances Sprague, age 84, of Highland Heights, KY passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, KY.  Joan worked in management for Kresge-Kmart for 42yrs and was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church.  She was known for her beautiful crocheting and was part of the prayer shawl ministry at church. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Sprague; brother, James Moore; sister, June Rehg. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Sprague; sisters, Audrey Palm and Priscilla Moore.  A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Alexandria Funeral Home from 5pm to 8pm.  The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Alexandria Funeral Home at 11am. Interment will be in the Alexandria Cemetery.

Betty Klein

Betty Klein, aged 94, died March 2 at her home in Alexandria, KY. She was the daughter of the late John T. and Lytle Watson and was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Klein, brother, John B. Watson and sister, Irene M. Watson. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Gibson (Paul) of Harrison, OH, her son, Robert Klein of Louisville, KY, plus grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her. There will be no visitation.  A private ceremony will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home for family members with burial in the Alexandria Cemetery.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass Northern Kentucky, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042.

Robert Spangler

Robert Lee Spangler, age 81, of Alexandria passed away on March 2, 2016 at Cold Spring Transitional Care Center.  He was the former owner and operator of Spangler’s Restaurant in Melbourne, KY and will be remembered as a Jack of All Trades. From landscaping to backhoe operator, he could do it all.  He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Spangler.  He is survived by his three sons, Randy (Bonnie), John, and Kenneth (Tina) Spangler; three daughters, Wanda Spangler, Donna Chenault, and Dianna Spangler; also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.  A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10am at the Alexandria Funeral Home.

Clifford L. Palladino


Clifford L. Palladino, 66, of Highland Heights, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at home. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and retired as an over the road truck driver after 40 years. Clifford is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Palladino (nee Smythe); a son, Dale (Shirley) Palladino; a daughter, Kelly (William) Sloan; two sisters, Mary Day and Alice Wagner; two brothers, Joseph and Henry Palladino; five grandchildren, Christopher and Cassidy Palladino, Rachael, Jessica and Jackson Sloan.
