Mary Rita Parnell


Mary Rita Parnell (nee Durkin), 74, of Cold Spring, KY (formerly of Alexandria, KY) passed peacefully at home in presence of family on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was a member of Saint Mary Parish and Senior Club, J-Club, Newport Elks Lodge # 273 Ladies Auxiliary, Alexandria Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dee Durkin and a brother, Jerry Durkin. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Tom" Parnell of Cold Spring; daughters, Lisa (Russ) Thacker of Cold Spring and Lori (Todd) Sayers of Alexandria; grandson, Thomas Sayers; sister, Carol Miller of Crestview and several nieces and nephews. Visitation 9:30 AM – 11:45 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church with Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00 PM. Bob Wagner


Bob Wagner, 64, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 in Ft. Thomas, KY.  He was a Vietnam Navy veteran, retired welder and an auctioneer. He was also a member of the NKY Saddle Club and the Campbell Co. VFW Post #3205. Bob is survived by his two sons Mark (Christi) Wagner and E.J. (Julie) Wagner; seven grandchildren, Gabriella, Angelina, Mikaili, Conner, Deven, Ashton and Charlie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at the Alexandria Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Alexandria, KY. Military Honors will be held at 12:00pm at the KY Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY. A celebration of Bob’s life will also be held on Friday at 6pm at the Campbell Co. William Earl Nagel Sr.


William Earl Nagel Sr., 74, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at his residence. William was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irene Nagel, a sister, Joyce Gibson and a brother, Robert Nagel. He is survived by his wife Georgeanne Nagel (nee Eten); children, Barbara Nagel, Karen (Mark) Berkemeyer, Sharon (John) Ferguson, Jennifer (Mike) Tritsch, William (Alyssa) Nagel Jr., Brian (Gracy) Nagel, Henry (Crissy) Nagel, Mark (Melissa) Nagel and Mike Ferrara; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. James C. Canada Sr.

James C. Canada Sr., 81, of Crestview Hills, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at home. He worked 42 years for the Kroger Company as head produce clerk. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gracelene Canada; children, Deborah Canada Kappes, James Canada Jr. and Timothy (JoEllen) Canada; brother, John Canada Jr.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Joseph Matthew Ross, 34, of Morning View, KY, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Edgewood, KY. Joe was born December 11, 1980 in Cincinnati, OH. He was a machine operator. Joe is survived by his companion, Molly Moyer; a son, Brayden Ross; his mother, Janet (the late Michael Vest) Vest; his father, Vernon Hicks; siblings, Misty Ross and Michael Vest; also survived by many friends and family. William R. Twehues, 68, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Bill was a retired Control Specialist for General Electric. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Twehues (nee Jenkins); children, Jennifer Dee, Stacie Begley, William D., Matthew, Benjamin and Steven Twehues; siblings, Mary Lou Donovan, Joan Schultz, Lynn Farris, Paul and Jack Twehues; 18 grandchildren. Donna Marie Bezold


Donna Marie Bezold, 60, of Fort Thomas, KY, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, KY. She was a credit representative for Duke Energy. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Vera (Reis) Bezold and a brother Ralph Bezold. She is survived by her siblings, Kenny Bezold, Darlene Yates, Allan Bezold, Gloria Taylor, Roger Bezold, Douglas V. Bezold and Jimmy Bezold; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Louise Gertrude Orzali

Louise Gertrude Orzali (nee Tewes) “Weezer” 89, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. She was proud as having earned full ride academic scholarships to both; Villa Madonna High School, and Thomas More College always maintaining first honors. In H.S. she was a field hockey star and swimmer, and also worked on the original Tewes Poultry Farm on Charter Oak Road, Edgewood, KY on weekends and both before and after school as well. After graduation Louise was a teacher at Simon Kenton High School in Independence, KY, a substitute teacher at Beechwood High School of Ft Mitchell, and a private tutor. She and her late husband Peter were the original owners of Alexandria Drugs, established in 1956 where she worked as a clerk for many years. She was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Alexandria, KY. She was Past President of Saint Mary Altar Society; the 1st President of St. Mary’s Mother’s Club which became the PTA. Louise served on many committees at this Catholic Parish for over 50 years such as Bingo, Festival, and Bereavement she also often ushered seating at Mass. She worked diligently with her husband Pete while he was the fund raising chairman of the Building Committee for the current church. She was a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed Crocheting, Embroidery & Ceramics. She loved to do crossword puzzles and enjoyed bowling, playing golf and viewing professional sports especially the Cincinnati REDS. But above all she loved and was proud of family. Weezer was a true inspiration for many as well as her son and grandchildren, a fun loving, joking, yet hard working, smart, lady. Mrs. Orzali was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Orzali Sr.,R.Ph. her parents, John and Gertrude (Trenkamp) Tewes and siblings; Helen (Tewes) Kruer and John H. Tewes. Louise is survived by her son Peter J. (Rose) Orzali Jr., R.Ph.; three grandchildren, Joe (Casey Barnard) Orzali of Portland,OR, Mike (Alison Johnson) Orzali of Fort Wright, KY and Tina Orzali of Fort Wright, KY; four great-grandchildren, Gwyndolin, Rowan, Theodore and Francesca, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews. Visitation 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday, February 9, 2015 with Mass following at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Alexandria, KY.  Entombment will be in Saint John’s Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell, KY. James Dean Brashear


James Dean Brashear, 54, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY.  James was the owner of A & B Auto Sales, Alexandria, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Dean Brashear, step father, Robert Osborne and a sister, Deanna Nelly. He is survived by his wife, Vonda Brashear (nee Sparkman); mother, Mima Osborne; daughter, Rebecca Jo Brashear; son, Dakota Dean Brashear; brother, Seth Dean Brashear; step mother, Kathy Brashear. James is also survived a host aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY. Mary "Jo" DeMoss Mallery

Mary "Jo" (nee Mattingly) DeMoss Mallery, age 76, of California, KY passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. She was a retired bookkeeper for Carmeuse Mining Company, Carntown, KY.  Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Harlan DeMoss and a son, Jeffrey DeMoss. She  is survived by her husband, John Mallery; two daughters, Kimberly DeMoss (Greg) Jones and Becky DeMoss; three sons, Randy (Dine) DeMoss, Dan DeMoss and Chris DeMoss; three step-sons, Richard (Joni) Mallery, Christopher Rand (Tracy) Mallery, Sean Casey (Dee) Mallery; two brothers, Jim (Diane) Mattingly and Mike (Kathy) Mattingly; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, Kentucky on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Rosemary J. Barone


Rosemary J. Barone (nee Harthun), 98, of Alexandria, KY passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. Rosemary was a retired bookkeeper for the American Book Company, Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Barone and a son, Thomas Barone. She is survived by a son, Dan (Andrea) Barone; a sister, Joan (Paul) Vaal; 5 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria, KY. Alexandria Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret "Gayle" Lester

Margaret “Gayle” Lester, 87 of Alexandria, died February 1, 2015.  She was born in Mora, NM to Frank and Josephine (Strong) Trambley.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Charles Lester; sister, Jeannine Martinez; and granddaughter, Xiomara Lester.  Surviving her is a twin brother, Frank “Decky” Trambley; 4 sons:  Charles (Kathleen), Mark (Anne), Jeff (Jan), Chris (Sarah); 3 daughters: Margaret Ree Foltz (Dave), Julie Lester and Clare Luegering (John); 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Margaret worked at Country Cousins Bakery in Alexandria, taught at Bishop Brossart H.S. and in the bookstore at NKU, where she retired after 15 years.  She was an artist and enjoyed print-making, quilting and many other crafts.  She loved to travel and to visit her family back in New Mexico.

Visitation will be at St Mary of the Assumption Church in Alexandria from 9 am to 12 pm Saturday, February 7, with Mass immediately afterward.  Interment will follow at St Marys Cemetery, with a reception following in the undercroft of the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, in Alexandria, Glenmary Home Missioners, PO Box 465618, Cincinnati, OH 45246-5618 or the American Red Cross,  2111 Dana Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45207.
