He went hunting and fishing almost every week with his son Wally. More than the hunting and fishing though, Walter loved his family! He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou and son Wally. He was an advisor for Cincinnati Junior Achievement. He was a former scout leader for Boy Scouts of America in Fort Thomas. Past President of Fort Thomas Swim Club. After retiring he enjoyed breeding & showing champion miniature horses. He is survived by his wife Millie (Jester) Mergenthal; 2 sons Steve & Dee Mergenthal & 6 grandchildren & 1 great grandson. Maynard Futscher, 87, of Cold Spring, KY., died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood, KY. He was a retired brakeman after 36 years of service with the C&O Railroad at the Silver Grove Yard. He was also an insurance salesman for the Catholic Order of Foresters for 34 years. Mary Williams



Mary Ann Williams, of Alexandria, KY, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her home in Alexandria, KY. She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Shields; her brothers, Robert and Dennis Shields; sister, Louise Turner. Her dear sister, Judy Miller survives.

She retired as an Executive Secretary from the P&G Design Department in 2009, and she was greatly involved with church and mission work, including a committed heart to teaching Sunday School.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Ted Williams.


Two darling daughters and sons-in-law Kelli and Dan Crew and Allison and Scott Berkley, and her expanded family; Sandy and Tim Carver, and Emily and Tim Weatherholt.

Mary Ann adored her grandchildren: Lynnessa, Tyler, Leslie, and Trevor, Colin and Mary Elizabeth, Marlen and Kaene, and John Turner; her Godsons Andy Williams, Jimmy Williams III, and Rett Moreland and countless beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 11 at the Alexandria Funeral Home. 325 Washington Street, Alexandria, KY.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:00 AM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2916 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights, KY.

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, KY.
