Edna Fossitt
Edna Riddle Fossitt (nee Cunningham), 95, formerly of California, KY, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, KY. Edna was a homemaker and a member of the Mentor Baptist Church. She was born in Huntington, WV on June 28, 1918 the daughter of the late Clive and Faye (nee Watson) Cunningham. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph “Doc” Fossitt and a granddaughter, Sonia Rose. Edna is survived by a daughter, Harriet (Ed) Smith of Lebanon, OH; two granddaughters, Tamara Smith of Lebanon and Melanie Smith of Chicago; half brother, Richard Maze. Visitation 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY. Funeral service 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, California, KY.

Alberta Franzen , 88, of Melbourne, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas, KY. She was a homemaker, a member of Saint Joseph Church Camp Springs, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #3205, Ladies Auxiliary of Camp Springs Fire Department and the Catholic Order of Foresters Court #1725. Alberta was preceded in death by her great grandson, Cory Richardson. Nelson, 80, of California, KY, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Saint Elizabeth
Fort Thomas. He was a retired electrician with Local 212, a farmer and a Navy
Veteran. Carroll attended Immanuel Baptist Church and he was a member of Aspen
Grove Lodge #397 F &AM, Scottish Rite and the Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati. Carroll
was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Dunn) Nelson in 2007.
He is survived by three sons, Gary (Karen), Keith (Sharon) and Kevin (Traci)
Nelson; six siblings, Clarence Nelson, Harold Nelson, Donna Carson, Buddy
Nelson, Janet Waliczek and Lynn Nelson; seven grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Jacob,
Jonathan, Melanie, Brooklyn and Jamie; four great grandchildren, Alexis, Emma,

Scott was a machinist, an avid golfer and served four years in the Air Force
Reserve. He is survived by his wife, Betty Schneider; son, Logan Schneider; his
father, William Schneider; two sisters, Sara Griffin and Joanna Schneider; seven
brothers, Billy, Ralph, Tom, Mark, Todd, Jeff and Chris Schneider. Visitation Wednesday,

Shawn Buckenmeyer
Shawn Marie Daniell (Buckenmeyer), age 36, of Newport KY, died in her sleep at home on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Shawn is survived by her fiance, Charles Heffner; mother, Suzzanna Frank of Newport, KY; father, Fredric D Daniell II (Regina) of Caledonia, NY; brother, Fredric D Daniell III of Cincinnati, OH; and many beloved family, friends, and colleagues.
Shawn was born on September 16, 1977 in Groton, CT, and lived in Naples, Italy; Cairo, Egypt; western New York; and Northern Kentucky. She graduated from Genesee Community College (Batavia NY), SUNY Brockport, and Northern Kentucky University with degrees (respectively) in Graphic Design, Fine Art, and Media Infomatics. Shawn was to receive her Masters of Arts degree in English from NKU in December.
Shawn was a fiercely creative, encouraging, and loving woman. She was an ardent believer in inclusion, diversity, and personal creative expression for both herself and others. A gifted artist, a published author, and an assistant editor for the literary publications Aeqai and Sugared Water, Shawn was working on a new painting and a graphic novel at the time of her death. Shawn spent her last days joyfully planning and preparing for her impending wedding and subsequent honeymoon in Italy.
A Celebration of Her Life and Exhibit of her Art will be held at York Street Cafe, 738 York Street, Newport, KY on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 6-10pm.
