Loretta
Harleen Nieman Turner, 73, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Friday, April 26,
2013 at The Highlands of Fort Thomas. Harleen was born June 13, 1939 in Borger, TX but
raised in Sand Springs, OK. She is preceded
in death by her parents, Dorothy & Harley Cummings, first husband, Carlos Nieman,
brother, Oliver Cummings and niece, Missy Jackson. She leaves behind her husband of 18 years,
Dempsey Turner Jr. of Cold Spring, KY, her twin daughters, Lisa (Rich) Biehl of
Traverse City, MI and Lori (Charlie) Peterson of Dayton, KY. 2 grandsons, Gage
Biehl and Connor Morgan. One step
daughter, Brenda (Larry) Knuckles and four step-sons, Steve, Greg (Lucy), Mark (Sandy)
and Dale Turner all from the local KY area.
She leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, sister,
Lynda Duhon of LA, brother, Harley Cummings of Tulsa, OK. Known to all as
Harleen, she volunteered for many years at the Dayton High School as a band
parent plus she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is and always will be remembered for
having a huge heart for the kids at Dayton High School and for her love and
compassion for her family and friends.
She was loved by all and called mom by many. The heaven and universe just got an angel and
a bright star that will look over many of us for years to come. We send our beloved Cherokee princess off by saying gv-ge-yu-hi (I love you). Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral service immediately following at the Alexandria Funeral Home in Alexandria, KY. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY. Donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation
