  4. My condolences to the Benningfield family. Ben will truly be missed. It was always nice to hear Ben's voice on the other end of the phone when calling for support. Being from the Detroit area, it was nice to talk "old times" with Ben from when he worked in Detroit. Working on Hughes calls will never be the same. Thank you for allowing him to be a part of all of our lives.

There is no way to convey our shock and grief at your father's passing. We've been good friends and neighbors with the Benningfield's for the last twenty years. Having lost my own father last year I want to say that I truly grieve not only for the loss of your father but for the loss of my friend as well.

I have worked with Ben 18 years now. His loss is very personal. Haven spoke to him every business day by phone or Im for all these years, I have come to know him as a very dear friend . We have shared stories of family, of our good times and our very bad times. Ben and I have laughed together and cried together. I lost my father last month, I feel your pain and I know your grief. Ben was a loving father and husband, and a dear friend. With his passing a light has gone out in this world, an a new light illuminating the next world has come on

  7. My deepest condolences to the Benningfield family. Ben was one of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with and I had the utmost respect for him. As others have shared, I have worked with Ben for 15+ years in the trenches of everyday troubleshooting. His outlook was always cheerful, even when I would grow weary of the work. He had a great love for his family and we talked about our sons regularly. While talking on the phone, I would repeated “IM” him to hear the “Moo” of his IM received. I’m sure he is with his wife are watching over family and friends. Dan Isoldi

The world has lost a gentle giant. Gentle in that I never heard Ben say a negative thing about anyone or get negative in a tough situation. Always uplifting and filled with heart of laughter. A giant because under that quiet soft spoken exterior he handled many situations with professionalism and integrity.

I had the pleasure to attend a training class with him and we hit it off and became friends right then. Our times of laughter continued as he worked with me on service calls over the years. In the last year with Ben's endorsement, I became a tech support colleauge and was further impressed as I was able to observe his professionalism as he worked with all of us and the techs in the field.

He left me with a great model of leadership and kindness that I will never forget. It has been my privilege to know Ben and to call him a friend.

May his family be warmed in knowing how many lives were touched by Ben an how they loved and respected him in return. May the Lord embrace you with His love and comfort in your time of loss of a truly special friend, Ben Benningfield.

Scott, I do not know you personally, but feel that I know you none the less. Your Dad always talked about his family. It was obvious that he loved you and your Mom very much. I am another employee of WWTS that was touched by Ben. I too was able to move into Technical Support thanks in part to him. I recall working with him while I was still a field technician and remember how kind, friendly, helpful, and positive he always was. Working with him side by side was even better, I am blessed to have learned from him. He was always ready to share his knowledge and assist when needed. I've also heard from numerous technicians since his passing and each of them have nothing but kind words to say about him. His passing truly leaves a huge hole in the WWTS family that can never be filled. Sure there will be others to do the work but no one can take his place. Bernie's comment "Gentle Giant" is a perfect description of Ben, he was as Gentle as a lamb, but certainly one Giant of a person. God Bless and comfort you during this time, and know that your Dad was very well loved, and will be greatly missed.

  18. Dear Scott and Family,
On behalf of Worldwide TechServices our entire staff has asked me to express to you our sincerest sympathies in the death of Ben. Although words are of little comfort at a time like this, please know we are thinking of you and your family and we all miss Ben very much.

As Ben’s manager and friend I can say his talent may only be exceeded by very few in the industry and his leadership and direction for our team went unquestioned, we had that much respect for his judgment.

Ben was a person who always had a smile on his face and a word of encouragement for those around him. His can-do attitude about anything assigned to our group became contagious in the company. He was always available and showed a willingness to help in any way he could. Day in and day out, he showed the kind of motivation and leadership all of his team so much admired. But even more than that leadership position. There is for most people that one special individual who stands out offering guidance, introductions, inspiration, encouragement, and solace over failure, and, most importantly, an example of success. For our Technical Support Team Ben was that person

Our deepest sympathies are with you and your family in this loss.

    Goodbye my dear friend

    Sincerely

    James Cotter
Director, Worldwide Tech Services Technical Support

Though we never met your father, we know he raised a fine young man and must have been very proud of his family. Our hearts go out to you during this difficult time. We know how hard it is to loose a Mom and Dad, but they still watch over you always. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. The Johnsons (neighbors).

  21. Tim Groce and family,
It’s hard to know what add after reading all the kind, honest and heartfelt posts. Ben was certainly special and one of a kind. There was something about his voice, calm demeanor and patience that could instantly put you at ease. I know after working with him on anything it would just turn my mood and my day around. I will (like everyone that worked with him) miss him dearly. Ben …I shed a tear at your wife’s passing and I’ve shed some for you and your surviving family…you’ll be missed my friend….

My deepest sympathy for your and our loss of Ben. I have fond memories of Ben from the Olivetti days. Ben was my DSS under Bob Deering. From that time till now Ben has always been in our corner as we needed support in the field. Ben's passing has left a void in our lives professionally and personally. Ben truly was one of a kind and a man among men.
