Elmer H. Rust, 85, of Alexandria, KY., died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice, Fort Thomas, KY. After serving with the marines in the Pacific during WWII, he returned to a life long career in the building trade becoming a master finish carpenter. He was active in various social and civic organizations including Campbell County VFW Post #3205. Preceded in death by his wife, Alberta (nee Lauer) and sister Virginia Hildebrand. Survived by daughter, Mary Lynn (Brian) Cartmell of Harrison, OH; sons, Garry (Sally), Tom (Mary), and Greg (Bonnie) of Cold Spring, KY. and Doug (Cindy) of Alexandria, KY; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Velma Barbian, Mary Hartman, Jeanette Franzen and Agnes Baumann; brother, Charles Rust. Weslee Scott Ashlock
Weslee Scott Ashlock, 6 weeks, of Alexandria Kentucky, passed away Sunday morning, September 25, 2011 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. After this strong, happy baby boy fought for six long weeks and through five difficult surgeries, little Weslee decided it was time to be free from pain. He hopes to help others through the strength of his journey, research of his condition, and donation of his tissues and organs. Our little Angel Weslee will continue to watch over our family and all families experiencing similar journeys in their lives. He is preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Robert Heck, Mildred Ashlock, and Garland Ashlock; paternal aunt Mikal Ashlock; maternal great grandparents, Mary Jane Fender, Robert Rebholz, and Marilyn Rebholz. He is survived by his ever loving parents, Christina Rebholz and Thomas Ashlock; big brother Tristan Ashlock; maternal grandparents, Sharri and Nick Rebholz; maternal uncle, Nicholas Rebholz; paternal grandparents, Nita Heck and Tom Ashlock; paternal aunt, Jillian Ashlock; paternal great-grandmother, Faye Heck; maternal great-grandparents, Eileen Rebholz, James Fender, and Larry and Jan Rohling; as well as all extended family members. The funeral will be held at Alexandria Funeral Home on Wednesday. Burial will follow immediately after at St. John’s Cemetery in Melbourne, KY. Blaine "Butch" Ortlieb, age 80, of California, KY, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Saint Elizabeth Hospice Fort Thomas. Mr. Ortlieb was born July 16, 1931 in Highland Heights, KY.
