Elmer H. Rust, 85, of Alexandria, KY., died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Saint Elizabeth Hospice, Fort Thomas, KY. After serving with the marines in the Pacific during WWII, he returned to a life long career in the building trade becoming a master finish carpenter. He was active in various social and civic organizations including Campbell County VFW Post #3205. Preceded in death by his wife, Alberta (nee Lauer) and sister Virginia Hildebrand. Survived by daughter, Mary Lynn (Brian) Cartmell of Harrison, OH; sons, Garry (Sally), Tom (Mary), and Greg (Bonnie) of Cold Spring, KY. and Doug (Cindy) of Alexandria, KY; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Velma Barbian, Mary Hartman, Jeanette Franzen and Agnes Baumann; brother, Charles Rust. Visitation 4:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington St., Alexandria, KY. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 4, at Saint Mary Church Alexandria, KY. Interment Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria, KY.
