Robert “Bob” L. Franzen, age 90, of Melbourne, KY passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Mr. Franzen was a WWII Army veteran and a retired Labor Foreman for C&O Railroad. He was a member of St. Joseph Church Camp Springs, Campbell County V.F.W. #3205, American Legion #219, and served as a Financial Officer for 35 yrs with the Catholic Order of Foresters Court #1725. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66yrs, Alberta Franzen in 2014, and his great-grandson, Cory Richardson. He is survived by his son, Steven (Cindy) Franzen; sister, Glorianna Heck; three granddaughters, Sherri Runyan, Dawn Hardy, and Rachael Klapheke; one grandson, Justin Franzen; seven great-grandchildren, Collin, Sierra, Sam, Kali, Jami, Courteney, and Barrett. Visitation will be at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Church Camp Springs on Monday, January 25, 2016 beginning at 10am. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Camp Springs.
