Harold
Joseph Bree, 89, of Melbourne, KY passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his
home. Harold was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Philippines and Okinawa
with the 96th Division “Deadeyes” 381st AT. He was a retired automobile
mechanic and car salesman having worked at Campbell County Chevrolet, Queen
City Chevrolet and Newport Dodge during his career. Harold retired in 1987 to
care for the 32 acre farm in Camp Springs that once belonged to his great
grandfather. He enjoyed hunting in the woods or tinkering with a car or lawn
mower to get it running just right. His retirement accomplishments included
rebuilding two log cabins, working on a variety of automobiles, that he bought
and fixed up and sold, and rebuilding a 1951 Chevrolet truck that he reassembled
from bushel baskets of parts. He lived and loved his family and the farm.
Harold was a member of Saint Joseph Parish Camp Springs and American Legion
Simon Gosney Post # 219.Harold is survived by his life partner and loving
friend, Patricia Herzog Phillips; sons, Ronald (Sue) Bree, Richard Bree, Gary
(Cathy) Bree and Gregory (Charlene) Bree; grandchildren, Christine and Grace
Bree, Adeline and Lola Ashinger; also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Joseph B and Helen Wagner Bree; two wives, Bernadette Emark Bree and Ruth
Leising Knepfle Bree; brother, Robert Bree. Visitation Monday, May 2, 2016 at Saint Joseph
Church Camp Springs from 9:30 AM- 11:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at
11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Saint Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.
