Lillian Painter
of Cold Spring, KY, age 92, found
eternal peace on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Woodcrest Nursing Home. She was
born February 19, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ernest Edward Matherley
and Ada Lee (Dixon) Matherley. On October 10, 1942, she married John Thomas
Painter. They had 3 children: Charlotte
Christine (Painter) Gallaspie , Harold
James Painter, and Ruth Ann (Rudie)
(Painter) Price. Her husband, John Thomas Painter, preceded her in death on
June 6, 1975.
She was preceded
in death by her siblings: James Edward (Buddy) Matherley, Frank Heilman
Matherley, Howard Thomas Matherley, Wilma Dean (Matherley) Bender, Virginia
Christine (Matherley) Ratcliff, Clara Grace (Matherley) Haselton, and
granddaughter Terri Lee (Messer) Farrar.
She is survived
by her 3 children: Charlotte Christine, Harold James, and Ruth Ann; 5 grandchildren: Tanya Renea, Thomas Vernon, James
Allen, Gwendolyn Kay and Misty Dawn;
12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great
grandchildren.
Lillian has
graciously donated her remains to the University of Cincinnati School of
Medicine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lillian’s
church, Summit Church of Christ, 6015 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Kentucky
41076. Lillian was the oldest member of
the congregation. Services will be held at that location on December 17, 2016
at 4:30 pm.
Lillian will be
missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
