Michael Thomas Moermond Sr., 70, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Mike was a retired automotive master tech and former owner of Mike’s Garage of Ft. Thomas, KY. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Cold Spring, KY. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family. He had many hobbies, camping being one of his favorites, but also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, drawing\painting and his love for music, there wasn’t an instrument that he couldn’t pick up and play. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Jean Moermond (nee Becker); six children, Michael T. (Tammy) Moermond Jr., Michelle (Darrell) Smith, Brad Moermond, Greg (Lisa) Moermond, Sara (Zach) Friedly and Amanda (Casey) Woodyard; four siblings, Peggy (Chris) Ebert, Kathy Horton, Jan Moermond, Jeff (Vicki) Moermond; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A celebration of Mike’s life will begin with a memorial visitation on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1237 Rocky View Drive, Cold Spring, KY, from 11:00 AM until time of memorial service at 1:00 PM.
