Melvin C. Boden

Melvin C. Boden, 86, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Melvin was a General Contractor (Boden Builders Inc.). A member of Alexandria United Methodist Church, Alexandria, KY, where he liked doing things around the Church with a couple other guys and they were lovingly called the "Three Grumpy Old Men". He served in the USAF with the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War. He loved woodworking and crafts which he donated and gave to friends and family. He was a big UK basketball fan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Thelma M. Boden (nee Benedict); two sons, David Allen Boden and Rick James Boden (Peggy Marie); four grandchildren, Nathan James Boden, Seth Allen Boden, Emily Marie Boden and Dr. Sarah Ashley Boden. Services were at the convenience of the family. Entombment was in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, Southgate, KY. Memorials are suggested to: Alexandria United Methodist Church, 8286 W Main St, Alexandria, KY 41001; Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45229 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105. Alexandria Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
