Ruth Carolyn Scharold
Ruth Carolyn Scharold (Formerly Mary Justus CDP 1951-1971), 86, of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at The Highlands of Fort Thomas. Ruth was born November 13, 1931 to her parents the Late Justus and Clara (Schultz) Scharold. Ruth graduated from Villa Madonna College and went on to Xavier University for her Master’s Degree in education. Ruth taught many years as an elementary school teacher. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and loved to travel and play golf. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three siblings: Margaret Reis, Jay Scharold and Lorraine Dougherty. She is survived by four siblings: Celeste Harrison, William (Joan) Scharold, Louis (Barbara) Scharold and Judy (Joe) Ott; also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Saint Philip Church, 1404 Mary Ingles Hwy, Melbourne, KY 41059 from 9:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Norbert Frilling Education Fund, C\O Saint Phillip School, 1402 Mary Ingles Highway, Melbourne, KY 41059. Thomas "Tom" Parnell
Thomas “Tom” Parnell, age 78, of Cold Spring, KY (formerly of Alexandria, KY) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY in presence of family. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was a retired industrial sales representative for Publicker Industries and later worked part-time for Smyth Automotive. He was a member of Saint Mary Parish and Senior Club, Newport Elks Lodge 273, and the American Legion Post 219. Tom was also the proud creator of the “World Famous” Tibou's Cajun Magic Spice that has been enjoyed by many. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rita Parnell (nee Durkin); parents, Ed and Gert Parnell; brother, Chuck Parnell. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Russ) Thacker of Cold Spring and Lori (Todd) Sayers of Alexandria; grandson, Thomas Sayers; brother, Gary (Nadine) Parnell; sister-in-laws, Gayle Parnell and Carol Miller; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation 8:30 AM -11:45 AM Saturday, October 27th at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Alexandria, KY with Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in the Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria, KY. Memorials are requested to Saint Mary Parish, 8246 E. Carol Combs
Carol Sue Combs, age 53, of Verona, KY passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Devoted wife of Pearl Combs; beloved daughter of Bonnie Riley and the late Eugene Riley; dear sister of Gary and Mark Riley, Brenda Thomas and the late Lynda Longshore; loving aunt of four nieces, three nephews, and nine great-nieces and nephews; also survived by two step-children, Rickey Combs and Angela Hunley; six step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18th from 11am to 1pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at Alexandria Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Alexandria Cemetery.

James Gregory "Greg" Blanton
James Gregory Blanton “Greg”, 56, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends. Greg was a Sports Field Manager for Team All Sports. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Spradlin who passed on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. He is survived by his spouse, Rick Alford; two children, Christopher R. Alford and Sunny R. (Jason) Mitchell; step-father, Kenneth Spradlin; five grandchildren: Brighton Mitchell, Ava Mitchell, Parker Alford, Hallie Alford, and Liam Alford. Patricia Ann Spradlin, 77, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at her home. Pat was retired and formerly worked as the Office Manager for Team All Sports. Her son Greg passed away one day following her death on Thursday, October 11, 2018. She is survived by her husband, James Kenneth Spradlin, brother, Thomas Castle, sister, Melissa Fryman and many nieces and nephews. Emma Louise Hehman
Emma Louise Hehman (nee Turner), age 83, of Alexandria, passed away on October 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Edgewood, KY. Emma enjoyed listening to country music and visiting local casinos to play her favorite slot machines. She loved spending time with her family and her fur grand doggie named Thor. He gave her much joy in the last year. She is survived by: husband, Doug Hehman; three sons, Kent (Karen Griffis), Todd (Jessica), and Eddie Hehman; brother, Asbury (Carole) Turner; niece, Peggy (Lynn) Martin; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Matthew, and Ben Hehman; also survived by a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 9th from 11AM until time of the Funeral Service at 2PM at Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, Kentucky. Larry Singleton
Larry Singleton, 68, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Florence, Ky. Larry was a retired employee of Lasco Panels. He wasan Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Campbell County Game and Fish, Campbell County Bow Hunters and Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Larry was born December 18, 1949 in Dayton, KY to his parents the Late Clifford and Aggie (Watson) Singleton. He is survived by his wife, Angela D. Singleton (nee Bitter); three siblings: Dave (Peggy) Singleton, Mike (Joan) Singleton and Terry (Walter) Schuchart; also survived by many nieces and nephews and four beloved cats. . Visitation Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington St. Alexandria, KY 41001, from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Since Larry was never a coat and tie guy, funeral attire should be the comfortable clothing that he would wear.
Linda Braun Winkler
Linda Braun Winkler, 64, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends. She fought a hard and courageous battle against Breast Cancer. She was born March 20, 1954 in Fort Thomas, to her late parents John and Laverne (Painter) Braun. Linda was a CPA for PNC Bank and worked until retirement at Proctor and Gamble. Throughout her life Linda loved to travel. Her adventures with family and friends took her around the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Linda was a dedicated lifelong member of First Twelve Mile Baptist Church. She was a true example of what Christ wants a Christian to be. Survived by, her husband, John Winkler, Melbourne, KY; step-daughter, Sarah (Winkler) Petoniak (Peter), step-son, David Winkler; grandchildren: Jacob, Henry and Georgia Petoniak, Green Bay, WI, along with extended family and friends. Rose Boberg Welscher
Rose Welscher (nee Boberg), 77, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at HealthSouth Northern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital, Edgewood, KY. Rose retired after serving 25 years as City Clerk of Southgate, KY. She was a Kentucky Colonel and volunteered at the Parish Kitchen. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Theodore and Mildred (Fagedes) Boberg; six siblings: Claire Boberg, LaVerne Schute, Ken Boberg, Nick Boberg, Diane Beck and Rick Boberg. Rose is survived by her husband, Jerry Welscher; three children: Kristin (Darren Recker) Meyer, Lisa (Mick) O’Connor and David (Gina) Welscher; seven grandchildren: Adam Meyer, Sam O’Connor, Emma O’Connor, Jack O’Connor, Grace O’Connor, Lily Welscher and Lydia Welscher; six siblings: Sister Joan Boberg C.D.P., Jack Boberg, Dan Boberg, Pam Wagner, Lynn Mowery and Steve Boberg.
