Captain George H. DeMarrero Jr., 74, of Camp Springs, KY., died Feb. 18, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood. He was a retired river captain. He worked as Commodore, Master and Pilot for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company. Captain was the 5th generation Master-Pilot on steamboats. He also served as master or pilot on 80 different vessels up to 10, 500 H.P.. Captain retired as a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. The river and his family were his life. Survivors include his wife, Connie DeMarrero, of 32 years; his son Keith DeMarrero of Vero Beach, FL. And daughter Kim DeMarrero of Byhalia, MS. and preceded in death by his son Mark DeMarrero. Captain had one sister, Senator Beverly Marrero of Memphis, TN; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews and one granddaughter, Heather (DeMarrero) Willoughby of Murfreesboro, TN. Visitation 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 with funeral services following at the Alexandria Funeral Home Alexandria, KY. Juanita Gaupel, age 74, of Alexandria, KY, died Friday, February 18, 2011, at her Residence.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Wells, Flo-Ann Wilson, Lori Fookes and Charlotte Harris her son, John Gaupel. She is also survived by 10 Grand Children, 19 Great-Grand Children.

Luella J Grisson , age 91, of Falmouth, KY, died Friday, February 18, 2011.She is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Dennis)Conner. She loved her family and Saint John’s Lutheran Church where she was a member for many years. She worked for the department of defense during WWII and was a retired cosmetologist. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Emma Schmidt, her brother, John Allen Schmidt, three sisters Virginia Wagner, Wilma Ronnebaum and Norma Williams.

He was the son of the late Carson and Elizabeth Collins. He is survived by his long time companion, Carolyn Estes and her sons Carroll and Wayne. Dorothy "Dolly" Brown
Dorothy Henrietta Huppert Brown, age 98, died February 8, 2011 at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville E. Brown. She was known as "Dolly" to her family and friends. Her siblings included her older brother Jack, her younger brothers Dale and Ray, and little sister Mary Anna. They lived in Melbourne, KY where Pop built their house. They survived the great Ohio River flood. She is survived by nieces, Harriet Huppert Gosney, Diane Huppert Rockerhousen, Pam Huppert Owen, Tammie Huppert Brooks, Dottie Bowen Barkac, Faye Brown Garver. Nephews, Donald Huppert and Jay Bowen. Dolly continued to be involved in many church activities, committees, volunteering at the hospital, and other worthwhile organizations. She supported Holly Hill Children's Home as well as others. Even in her later years she crocheted lap throws and gave them to the nursing homes and hospitals. Dolly has left us with many good memories and an example of how to live a rich full life that leaves a smile on the face of those who knew her. She touched us all with her love, her faith, and her integrity. As one of her nieces, Diane, wrote: "God is pleased today to receive our gift - Aunt Dolly. We should all be smiling for the good memories of her humor, kindness and charity, a dear soul that enriched our lives. We have truly been blessed." Visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm Friday, February 11th at the Alexandria Funeral Home with services following. Howard Schwalbach II, died Saturday, January 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila Nichols Schwalbach and a son Howard J. Schwalbach III, nephews Jeffrey Gibson of Texas, Chris Gibson of Alexandria, KY., Ken Elliott of Ohio and nieces Margaret Huber, Tammy Popp and Kathy DeBruler all of Alexandria, KY.
