Arthur Jewell Smith
Arthur Jewell Smith, 87, of Alexandria, passed away on March 12, 2014. Arthur operated Art Smith Gulf Station in Highland Heights for 13 years. He was a bowler at Southern Lanes and a member of First Baptist Church in Cold Spring, KY. He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years. Arthur was a great father and grandfather who enjoyed taking vacations with his children and grandchildren. He was a special friend to many and never met a stranger! He would always find a story or something in common to talk about with anyone he met. Arthur was preceded in death by his two sons, Arthur "Artie", and Alan "Shaggy". He is survived by his loving spouse of 63yrs, Grace Smith; Daughter, Robin (Condell) Jewell; Sister, Naomi McBride; 5 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, March 17, 2014 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Alexandria Funeral Home with the Funeral Services starting at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials to: First Baptist Church, 4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
