Donald E. Pangburn, age 77, of Highland Heights, KY passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Donna (nee West) Pangburn. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Pamela (nee Rachford) Pangburn; son, Dan (Jayne) Pangburn; daughter, Denise (Clint) Henson; brother, Lee Pangburn; sister, Gayle (nee Pangburn) Krummen; mother-in-law, Thelma Rachford; and his four grandchildren, Kara, Kristin and Ryan Pangburn and Nick Henson. After attending Newport High School, Don served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He was very patriotic and loved his country. Don was a funeral director and an embalmer. He served the Northern Kentucky area for 50 years and had recently retired from Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Ershell Funeral Home. Don was a loyal fan of the University of Kentucky. He carried a picture of Adolph Rupp and Joe B. Hall in his wallet. He would watch the games with the sound turned down so he could listen to his beloved Cawood Ledford. Don was a funny and compassionate Christian man who was loved by many. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a member of the Summit Church of Christ, Northern Kentucky Funeral Directors Association, and the Lawler Hanlon VFW in Newport, KY. A visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria KY on Monday, September 5th from 3PM – 7PM. Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 6th at the Alexandria Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria, KY. Memorials are suggested to: Summit Church of Christ, 6015 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.

So sorry and sad to about this. Will always remember his sense of humor and ability to guide our softball team my Junior year of high school. He will be missed greatly
