Romaine Carr, age 80, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. Romaine retired from N.K.U. after working as a secretary for 32 years.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Highland Heights, KY. Romaine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard Carr; children, Debbie (Tom) Yeager; Rick (Mary Beth) Carr, and Jenny Keene; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:00 AM. Janice Alford Pope
Janice Alford Pope, age 75 of Highland Heights, and formerly of Dayton, KY, died Sunday February 19th at her daughter’s home in Wilder, KY. She was the daughter of the late George and Gertie Smith Alford, born to them on January 18th, 1942 in Barbourville, KY. On June 8th, 1963, she united in marriage to Elmer “Paul” Pope, and to this union one daughter, Sheila was born. Janice was retired from The Christ Hospital as a Unit Assistant and a member of Orchard Terrace Church of God. She was a perfect mother and best friend to her daughter Sheila, a phenomenal grandmother to Jimmy and Jason and a loving great grandmother to Reese and Jase. Her family knew how special she was and how blessed they were to have her and will miss her deeply. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Claude “Jack” Alford, John “Pop” Alford and Hubert “Dink” Alford. Janice is survived by her loving daughter, Sheila and husband Jim of Wilder, KY. Her grandsons, Jim and wife Rhiannon of Alexandria, KY, Jason Feltner of Highland Heights, KY and her precious great grandchildren, Reese and Jase both of Alexandria, KY. Her sister’s Lila Hamilton of Newport, KY, Tooder Blevins of Barbourville, KY, brother Pete Alford of Corbin, KY and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24th from 4-8 p.m. at Orchard Terrace Church of God, Cold Spring, KY. The funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, February 25th at 10 a.m. at Orchard Terrace Church of God, Cold Spring, KY. Burial will follow in the Alexandria Cemetery. Kathryn L. Hornsby
Kathryn L. Hornsby (nee Kyle), age 70, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her residence. Kathy will be remembered for her many acts of kindness. She worked as a dedicated home healthcare aide. Kathy and her husband, Harold, provided foster care to children for 15 years. She was a member of Grant’s Lick Baptist Church where she was a youth director for many years. She was also the co-founder of Frankies Furry Friends Rescue. She is survived by her husband, Harold Hornsby; children, Daniel (Connie Jo) Hornsby, Dena Hornsby, and Dwight (Stephanie) Hornsby; brother, Edmond “Sonny” (Beverly) Kyle; sister, Medrida Zuehl; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at the Grant’s Lick Baptist Church on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 4pm to 6:45pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at the church beginning at 7pm. Donald W. Flora, 91, of Cold Spring, KY passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Don was a WWII Navy Veteran of the Pacific Campaign. He retired from Coca Cola after 39 years of service. He loved family, traveling, nature, and building things with his own hands. He will be remembered for his humor and love of life. Born September 27, 1925 in California, KY to William and Ada (nee Nelson) Flora, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Erwin and Carroll Flora. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Florine (nee Holtz) Flora; 3 children, Beverly (Michael) Kleier of Cold Spring, KY, Wayne (Etta) Flora of Liberty Township, OH and John Flora of Longwood, FL; 1 brother, Dwight “Pete” Flora; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Cincinnati, OH, a member of the Alexandria United Methodist Church, D.A.R.
Rebecca Bryan Boone Chapter, Campbell County Historical Society, a volunteer at
Saint Luke Hospital, AARP Alexandria Chapter, Happy 100’s, D.A.V. Auxiliary and
a life member of the Campbell County VFW Post #3205 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband,
William Bernard Klem, a sister, Edith Thatcher Bedford and her parents, Jack H.
and Lillian Cole Thatcher. Elizabeth is
survived by a sister, Lillian Shaw, four nieces, Jacqueline Shaw, Rolla E.
Bedford (Lawrence N. Goldstein), Bonnie Combs (Michael D. Combs), Janalee Shaw,
a nephew, Scott Shaw and a great nephew, Alex M. Combs. Visitation Thursday,

Matthew Carrelli “Bubba”, 61, passed away Sunday February 5, 2017 at his home
in Alexandria, KY, surrounded by his family and friends. Thomas is survived by
his wife of 37 years, Sandy Carrelli; 3 children, Matthew (Jessica) Carrelli,
Cory Carrelli and Angie (Shane) Carrelli-Trimble; four siblings, Patti (Jim) Wiesmann,
Billy Carrelli, Ricky Carrelli and Cindy Carrelli; five grandchildren, Sophia,
Ana, Erik, Luca and Mateo; also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, great

Joseph Montgomery
Joseph R. Montgomery, 91, of Grant’s Lick, KY, passed away
Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, KY surrounded
by his loving family. Joe was a WWII Navy Veteran. A welder by trade, he worked
for Hess & Eisenhardt, R A Jones and Montgomery Welding. He also was a
lifelong farmer. He was a member of Grant’s Lick Baptist Church and served as
treasurer for many years. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph A.
and Blanche (nee Smith) Montgomery and three brothers, Orville, Melvin and
Robert Montgomery. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean Montgomery (nee
Gosney); three children, Steve Montgomery, Nancy Steffen and Brian Montgomery;
one sister, Sylvia Montgomery; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Grant’s Lick Baptist Church, 941

1:00 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Oakland Cemetery,
