James "Jim" Nelson

James "Jim" Nelson, age 75, of California, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2018 at his home. Jim served in the Army in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired carpenter for Valley Interiors, Cincinnati, OH. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Nelson; siblings, Peggy Ackerman, Bob and Raymond Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Rita Nelson; daughter, Jimma (Edward) Blackshire; son, James R. Nelson; granddaughters, Kaitlynn Long and Alannah Blackshire; brothers, George, Lou, Dave, John, and Donnie Nelson; sister, Della Kramer. Visitation will be held at Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, KY on Tuesday, December 11th from 9AM until the time of Funeral Service at 11AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory, 931 Isabella Street, Newport, KY 41071.
