Elsie Marie
Arkenau (nee Walter), 97, of California, KY, passed away Thursday, July 27,
2017 at home surrounded by her family. Elsie was a homemaker and a former
employee of Auveco during World War II.
She was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Victory Club,
Silver Belles & Beaus, Kings & Queens, The Limburger Bunch and Saint
Mary Seniors. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 ½ years, Dorse
Lee “Scout” Arkenau, grandson, Todd Geiger, sister, Viola Kool and a brother,
Irvin Walter. She is survived by five children, Wanda (Harry Case) Nelson, Anita
(Stanley) Geiger, Wayne (Lee) Arkenau, Elaine (David) Frank and Marcia (David)
Ampfer, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild and 2 step grandsons.
Visitation Monday, July 31, 2017 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church,
Alexandria, KY from 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM with Mass of Christian Burial following
at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria, KY.
