Albert F. Schack, age 90, of Melbourne, KY passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was a retired truck driver for Castellini. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Camp Springs, KY and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Albert loved farming and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Irene Amelia (nee Ackerman) Schack. Donna Claire (nee Haeufle) Heise, 87, of Alexandria, KY, passed away on December 15, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY. As a young girl, Donna attended St. Elizabeth School in Norwood, OH and the friends she made there lasted the rest of her life. After graduating from Regina High School, she worked as a secretary. Donna was a homemaker, worked at the IRS, owned and operated Jack & Jill Boutique, then retired from St. Mary’s School cafeteria. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events, traveling, walking with her sisters, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family. She was a generous, loving mother whose greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Jim, for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Isabel Haeufle, and her brother Paul Haeufle. Mary Jane Schack
Mary Jane Schack, age 80 of California passed away on December 12, 2018 at her home. She was born to the late William "Bo" and Marie Schlarman on September 14, 1938. Mary Jane graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1956 and enjoyed traveling with her longtime friends, "The '56 Chicks". She worked at Western Southern, Bishop Brossart High School and as a homemaker. She married the love of her life, Linus on May 19, 1962. Mary Jane was an active member of the community and enjoyed volunteering for the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Sts. Peter and Paul. She served as a director on the Alexandria Fair Board for nearly 20 years and also served on the Teen Pageant Committee of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows. Mary Jane's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Linus. She is survived by her four children, Mike (Janet), Jim (Milissa), Jennifer (Ron) Holtz and Laura (Bob) Richardson. Her 13 grandchildren include Miranda, Jessica, James, Zack, Erin, John, Mary Beth, Emily, Rebecca, Maria, Justin, Joe and Jason. She had 8 great-grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her siblings Bill (Judy), Dan and Anne (Jack). Mary Jane was also preceded in death by her brother Bob (Betty) and her sister-in-law Mary Schlarman. Mary Jane's visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Sunday December 16th from 3pm til 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Edward "Ed" Hickman
Edward "Ed" Joseph Hickman, age 79, of Alexandria, passed away on December 9, 2018 at Reston Hospital Center, Reston, VA. Ed served in the United States Marine Corp and retired after 42 years as an estimator at Wendling Printing Company, Newport, KY where he served as a Vice President. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Alexandria, KY, St. Mary Seniors, Knights of Columbus Fr. Dejaco Council #5220, the Elks Lodge, Cold Spring, and Catholic Order of Foresters. Ed enjoyed golf, traveling, and especially following all of his children and grandchildren in their sports and scholastic activities. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth (nee Kiefer) Hickman; sister, Lois Rich and sons Ronald (1964) and Christopher (1976). Captain Stephen Robert Grace
Capt Stephen Robert Grace was born on April 14, 1988 to Robert and Christina (Daniele) Grace in St. Louis, Missouri at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. Stephen resided in Kirkwood, MO from 1988-1996, attending Tillman Elementary School and actively participating in various community activities. He relocated with his family to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1996 when he began attending St. Mary School. Stephen attended St. Xavier High School and always exuded the ‘men for others’ motto. He began focusing on competitive swimming while in high school and represented St. Xavier at the Ohio OHSAA High School District and State Championship. It was during his high school years that Stephen met his future wife, Kelsey (Vehr) Grace. The two were married on November 10, 2012, and on April 5, 2018 were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Georgia Eileen Grace. Stephen received his commission in 2010 from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering while also competing for USAFA as a Division I Athlete from 2006-2008. Following his graduation, he was assigned to Columbus AFB, Mississippi for Undergraduate Pilot Training where he was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Award. From there, he was assigned to Luke AFB, Arizona and the 308 Fighter Squadron for the F-16 Basic Qualification Course where he was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Award and named as the class Top Gun. Following his initial qualification training, Capt Grace was assigned to the 79th Fighter Squadron at Shaw AFB, South Carolina where he became a Wild Weasel specializing in suppression of enemy air defense. He was recognized as the 20th Fighter Wing’s Wingman of the Quarter. He deployed to the Middle East in support of regional stability operations in 2014. He was named as the 79th Fighter Squadron’s Wingman and Company Grade Officer of the Year. He then moved to the 80th Fighter Squadron at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea where he upgraded to Instructor Pilot and was tasked to support the armistice agreement with North Korea. While there he was recognized as the Squadron Instructor Pilot of the year and was selected to transition to the F-35A. He attended Squadron Officer School in 2017 where he distinguished himself as the Outstanding Flight Contributor by his peers. Assigned to the 61st Fighter Squadron at Luke AFB, Arizona he completed his F-35A Instructor upgrade and was twice recognized as the Company Grade Officer Instructor pilot of the quarter and Company Grade Officer of the Year in 2018. In October 2018 he was selected to attend the premier F-35A Weapons Instructor Course at Nellis AFB, Nevada. Family, friends, love, and prayer surrounded Stephen at the time of his passing on December 4, 2018. Stephen is survived by his wife, Kelsey (Vehr) Grace, his daughter, Georgia Grace, his parents, Robert and Christina (Daniele) Grace, sisters, Shannon (Scott) Usher and Kathleen (Blake) Annen and grandmother, Betty (Kemple) Daniele. He is preceded in death by Grandfathers James Grace and Carmine “Anthony” Daniele, and Grandmother Catherine (Geers) Grace. Visitation has been planned for Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a funeral mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, 2853 Erie Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45208. Harry was an intelligent man who had the ability to fix anything and loved all things technological. Ruth Carolyn Scharold (Formerly Mary Justus CDP 1951-1971), 86, of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at The Highlands of Fort Thomas. Ruth was born November 13, 1931 to her parents the Late Justus and Clara (Schultz) Scharold. Ruth graduated from Villa Madonna College and went on to Xavier University for her Master’s Degree in education. Ruth taught many years as an elementary school teacher. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and loved to travel and play golf. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three siblings: Margaret Reis, Jay Scharold and Lorraine Dougherty. She is survived by four siblings: Celeste Harrison, William (Joan) Scharold, Louis (Barbara) Scharold and Judy (Joe) Ott; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Thomas “Tom” Parnell, age 78, of Cold Spring, KY (formerly of Alexandria, KY) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY in presence of family. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was a retired industrial sales representative for Publicker Industries and later worked part-time for Smyth Automotive. He was a member of Saint Mary Parish and Senior Club, Newport Elks Lodge 273, and the American Legion Post 219. Tom was also the proud creator of the “World Famous” Tibou's Cajun Magic Spice that has been enjoyed by many. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rita Parnell (nee Durkin); parents, Ed and Gert Parnell; brother, Chuck Parnell. Emma enjoyed listening to country music and visiting local casinos to play her favorite slot machines. She loved spending time with her family and her fur grand doggie named Thor. He gave her much joy in the last year. Larry Singleton, 68, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Florence, Ky. Larry was a retired employee of Lasco Panels. He wasan Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Campbell County Game and Fish, Campbell County Bow Hunters and Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Larry was born December 18, 1949 in Dayton, KY to his parents the Late Clifford and Aggie (Watson) Singleton. He is survived by his wife, Angela D. Linda Braun Winkler, 64, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends. She fought a hard and courageous battle against Breast Cancer. She was born March 20, 1954 in Fort Thomas, to her late parents John and Laverne (Painter) Braun. Linda was a CPA for PNC Bank and worked until retirement at Proctor and Gamble. Throughout her life Linda loved to travel. Her adventures with family and friends took her around the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Linda was a dedicated lifelong member of First Twelve Mile Baptist Church. She was a true example of what Christ wants a Christian to be. Kenneth Lee Boschert, 59, of Butler, KY, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. Kenny was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Pendleton County Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. Mary retired after 35 years from Frisch’s where she started as one of the original car hops. She helped open restaurants in many states and also served as a manager. Mary Lou Boehnke (nee Huff), age 85, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Mrs. Boehnke was a homemaker and longtime member of Main Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elmore Boehnke; children, Carol (David) Conover, Paul (Ann) Boehnke and Tracy Fickenscher; brother, Bill Huff; sisters, Betty Glassbrenner and Mattie Bliss; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. Mary Pat Clark
Mary Pat Clark (nee Gleason), 64, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at Brookdale Finneytown, Cincinnati, OH. She was co-owner of Gleason Electric, formerly of Newport, KY. Mary Pat was involved and enjoyed dancing, scouting, ceramics and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Margaret (nee Connolly) Gleason and a brother, Tom Gleason. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Clark; four children, Jason Thomas Clark (Darci), Kelly Ann Clark (Darrell Cress), Adam Joseph Clark and Nicholas James Clark (Francesca); seven grandchildren, Taylor Peach, Jordan Clark, Ava Clark, Noah Clark, Josiah Clark, Riley Clark and Brooklynn Clark. Visitation Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, 8246 E Main St, Alexandria, KY 41001 from 9:30 AM – until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Helen Mildred White
Helen Mildred White (nee Alford), age 102, of Alexandria, KY passed into Gloryland July 8, 2018 at the Seasons of Alexandria. A Godly homemaker married to Chester C. White for 72 years. She was preceded in death by Chester; her parents, John Warren Alford and Lillie Painter Alford; sister, Florence Burt; brother, Woodrow Alford. She leaves behind three children, Martha Sue (Kenneth) Hopkins, Joyce Lee (John, deceased) Christopher and Dennis Ray (Mary) White; sister, Evelyn Mae Bundy; 8 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A member of Licking Valley Baptist Church, Helen became a born-again Christian as a girl and was baptized in the creek at 1st Twelve Mile Baptist Church. Helen taught Sunday school to young girls for over 35 years and was a faithful and devoted wife and mother. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 11th at the Alexandria Funeral Home from 10AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12PM. Interment will follow in the Alexandria Cemetery. Thomas Edward Overstreet, 86, of Silver Grove, KY, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Thomas was born on February 6, 1932 in Covington, KY to his parents the late John Robert and Lillian (Kingcade) Overstreet. Thomas retired from Art Technology, Cincinnati, OH and was a floor guard at R.E.C.A. Roller Rink, Alexandria, KY for many years and remembered by many skaters. Thomas was preceded in death by his former wife, Anna Mae Neiser. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Bonnie (Randy) Spangler, Mary (Terry) Eshman Connie (John) Lee and Thomas (Jenny) Overstreet; two sisters, Gloria Davis and Louise Willis; also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Alexandria Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:30. Interment to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
