Paul C. Sipple

Paul C. Sipple, age 97, of Visalia, KY passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Highland Spring of Ft. Thomas.  Paul was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a retired maintenance man and electrician for R.A. Jones Company, Crescent Springs, KY and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Alexandria, KY. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Rose Sipple in 1992.  He is survived by his two sons, Ray (Carol) Sipple of Alexandria, KY and Tom (Mary) Sipple of Bellbrook, OH; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 11am to 1pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at the funeral home at 1pm. Lenora Krift

Lenora Krift (nee Bezold), 90, of Alexandria, died on December 23, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Franklin T. Krift, in 1992 and by granddaughter, Amy Krift in 1986.  She was a homemaker and raised eight children in the family home where she lived for 70 years.  She was a member of St. Mary Seniors, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She loved to crochet and made lasting memories for her grandchildren. She also loved to play games with the kids, visit with family, and always to hold the newest grand babies. She is survived by her children John (Barb), Ed (Sue), Larry (Sheila -deceased), Frank (Rhonda), Jim (Terry), Millie (Greg Rawe), Katie (Jeff Miller), Janet (Mike Schack), 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren (3 more on the way), and 4 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29th from 4 – 8 pm at Alexandria Funeral Home. Judith Ann McDaniel (nee Wilson), 74, of Independence, KY, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. Judith was retired and previously worked at International Paper and Fidelity Investments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie McDaniel. Judith is survived by two sons and their wives, Randy (Shelly) McDaniel and Allen (Peggy) McDaniel; four grandchildren, Erynn, Jordan, Chloe and Willow; three siblings, Barbara Gay, Douglas and Dennis Wilson. Carol L. Schneider (nee Lampe), 76, formerly of Alexandria, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood. The devoted mother of Theresa (Gary) Bedinghaus, Kim (Kevin) Carmack, Vernon (Tammy) Schneider, Linda (Aaron) Schneider-Houghton & Carla (Kevin) Kramer. Loving grandmother of Branson & Josie Bedinghaus, Konner, Kole & Karyssa Carmack, Madison & Brooke Schneider, Carson Houghton, Hannah, Kaitlyn, Evan & Alexis Kramer. She was Delighted at the recent birth of her three great grandchildren, Augustus Weickert Schneider, Addisynn & Emmasynn Carmack. Dear sister of Thea Lampe, Peggy Barrett and Cletus Lampe. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon J. Schneider; a grandson, Carter Houghton; siblings, Denise Albert, Rose Burns and Guy Lampe. Daisy "Pearl" Hamons

Daisy "Pearl" (nee Glover) Hamons, age 85, of Highland Heights passed away on December 8, 2017. Pearl was employed as a stenographer and retired from Fechheimer Brothers in Blue Ash, OH in 1997. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, KY. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Ina Pearl (nee Thompson) Glover and her brother, Clyde Glover. She is survived by her husband, William Hamons; step-daughter, Melanie Buckler; step-son, Clark Hamons; two sisters, Jeanette Smith and Josephine Bowman; also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, KY on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 10am to 12pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at 12pm. Inez Ange Padgett

Inez Ange Padgett, 86, a resident of the Angetown Community, Jamesville. N.C., died after losing her battle with lung cancer on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her residence in the Northern Kentucky, Greater Cincinnati area where she has resided with family the past 10 years.  Born November 11, 1931 in Martin County she was the daughter of the late Bonnie Lee Ange and Addie Bell Modlin Ange and was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Hertford Padgett.  Inez retired from Belk Tyler in Williamston and was a member of the Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church. Her family includes her daughters, Cerese Padgett Manning and husband Carroll of Roper, Lynette Padgett Pugh and husband Ben of Kentucky and Sheila Padgett of Kentucky; sister, Helen Ange Dunlow and husband Ronald of Askewville; brother, Larry Ange and wife Betty Jo of Angetown; sister-in-law, Marie Padgett Ange of Angetown; grandchildren, Andrew Niebuhr and Sara Niebuhr of Cincinnati, Kelly Flerlage and husband Leo of Cincinnati; Ben Pugh and wife Jennifer of Kentucky and Tom Pugh of Cincinnati; great grandchildren, Erianna Niebuhr, Eli Flerlage, Kate Flerlage of Cincinnati; Todd Pugh, Shawn Pugh and Reagan Pugh of Kentucky; many beloved nieces, nephews and lifelong family and friends. Norbert Franzen

Norbert Leo Franzen, 87, of Alexandria, KY passed away peacefully on December 3, 2017.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria, KY.  He was also a member of St. Joseph Camp Springs Catholic Order of Foresters 1725, St. Mary’s and Sts. Peter and Paul Senior Citizens, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jeanette Sophie (Rust), his daughter Lois Ann Lauer, two grandsons Matthew and David Reis, his parents Nicholas and Marie Franzen, sisters Rita Sacksteder and Rosella Rief, brother Tony Franzen. Norbert is survived by his sons Ron Franzen (Judy) and Ted Franzen, his daughter Mary Lee Reis (Chris), Son-in-law Ken Lauer (Brenda), 18 grandchildren and 12-great-grandchildren. His enjoyment in life was being married to Jeanette, raising his family, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His love for farming, gardening and hunting also brought out the outdoorsman part of his life.  He was previously employed by the Railroad and retired from Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company after 38 years of service. Thelma Jane (nee Bihl) Henry, age 91, of California, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Cold Spring Transitional Care Center. She was a member of the International World Wide Church of God. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Henry in 2016. Donald S. Lloyd, 77, of California, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Don retired from Cincinnati Plasterers’ Union, Local #1-132 after 40 years. Urban Nicholas Beckerich, 84, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Saint Elizabeth Fort Thomas. Urban was an Army veteran, a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish of Alexandria, KY, and Catholic Order of Forester #1492. He retired from Durkee Foods of Sharonville, OH after 30 years of service and Walmart of Alexandria, KY after 18 years. Urban is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Beckerich (nee Miller); two daughters, Caroline Gross and Dolores (Paul) Riedeman; siblings, Joseph, Ambrose, Frank, Louis Beckerich, Agnes Perry and Sister Mary Michelyn SND; three grandchildren, Joe Gross, Dan Gross and Sgt. Michael Thomas Moermond Sr., 70, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Mike was a retired automotive master tech and former owner of Mike’s Garage of Ft. Thomas, KY. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Cold Spring, KY. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family. He had many hobbies, camping being one of his favorites, but also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, drawing\painting and his love for music, there wasn’t an instrument that he couldn’t pick up and play. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Jean Moermond (nee Becker); six children, Michael T. (Tammy) Moermond Jr., Michelle (Darrell) Smith, Brad Moermond, Greg (Lisa) Moermond, Sara (Zach) Friedly and Amanda (Casey) Woodyard; four siblings, Peggy (Chris) Ebert, Kathy Horton, Jan Moermond, Jeff (Vicki) Moermond; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Tom Jones

Tom Jones, 81 years old, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his home. He suffered with severe COPD & congestive heart failure. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Claire Hendrick. He loved his family, dogs and home and on sunny days Tom could be found on his porch throwing the ball to his dog, Zoe. He was a lifetime member of the Campbell County Game & Fish Club. Some of his favorite times were spent with his family camping in the Smoky Mountains. He was an avid hunter with both gun and bow. Tom enjoyed wildlife and photography. He graduated from Bellevue High School. Retired from Upjohn Co. after working 32 years there. He is survived by his wife, Claire Hendrick Jones; daughter, Lori Rizzo; 2 brothers, John & Robert Jones; sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Farrell; grandchildren, Tamara Jones, Casey Jones, Mandy Rizzo & Luke Rizzo; great grandchildren, Jada Arrowood, Aiden Jones & Cason Jones. Samuel H. Parker, Jr.

Samuel H. Parker, Jr., age 97, of Alexandria, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Sam was a WWII Air Force Veteran and retired supervisor for AT&T. After retirement he worked as a realtor for over 30 years.  He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Pendleton Country Club, American Legion, and the Alexandria Masonic Lodge. Sam was also a 2010 Campbell County High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee. Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn (nee Lickert) Parker in 2005. Sam is survived by his children, Gloria Neal, Dennis Parker (Diana), Thelma Parker, and Rita Parker; 7 grandchildren, Tammy, Heather, Megan, Holly, Marla, Maggie, and Annabella; 10 great grandchildren, Joshua, Dillon, Katy, Ally, Evan, Courtney, Emily, Parker, Ava, and Sean; 1 great-great grandson, Gabriel.  Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Alexandria Funeral Home from 4pm to 8pm. Jan Denise Seibert

Jan Denise Seibert (nee Loos), 54, of Melbourne, KY passed away Monday, October 30, 2017.  She was born on July 31, 1963 to Linda L. Loos and the late Ervin M. Loos.  Jan was the beloved wife of the late Edward G. Jan was a graduate of Silver Grove High School, Northern Kentucky Health Occupations Center, and Beckfield College of Nursing.  She was formerly employed at River Valley Nursing Home and Health South Rehabilitation Center. Jan will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her black labs Roxie and Rex, as well as her generous heart to anyone in need. Harold J. Ziegler, Jr.

Harold J. Ziegler, Jr., 88, of Alexandria, KY, passed away at his home on Monday, October 23, 2017. Harold was a graduate of Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, KY. He was active on the football team, in track and field, and he held several school and greater Cincinnati records for pole vaulting. He was the Kentucky State Pole Vault Champion in 1946 and 1947. His devotion to UK basketball and Highlands football was legendary and lifelong. Harold was a salesman, farmer, and retired bus driver for Campbell County Schools. He operated one of the first commercial vineyards in Northern Kentucky, and his farm was the site of many family celebrations and spirited Wiffle Ball tournaments. Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruth (Combs) Ziegler, in 2010. Harold is survived by three daughters: Valarie Hope Ziegler (Bill Nunn, Jr.), Carole Anne Ziegler (Rachael Winters), and Susan Lea LeCates; and five grandchildren: Teddy and Evan Roach, Iris, Ian, and Aiden LeCates. The family especially thanks those friends who brightened Harold’s later years: loyal neighbors Don and Trinett Kuper as well as Jim Shearer and all the gang at Harold’s beloved Sand Trap. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Alexandria Funeral Home from 12:00-1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service. Carol Jean Davies, age 75, of Dayton, KY passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Carol was a former waitress at J.K.’s Chili in Maderia, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris McDaniel; son, Timothy Scott Dennler; brother, Thomas McDaniel. Evelyn (Schack) Wolfzorn

Evelyn (Schack) Wolfzorn, Our devoted wife and mother went to heaven on October 23rd after a brave fight with congestive heart failure.  She is survived by her husband, Robert, her children, John (Ginger), Tim (Linda) and Lisa (Bill) Mell; her grandchildren, Christine (Keith) Bezold, Brent, Jamie, Troy, and Blake Wolfzorn.  Also survived by her loving siblings, Melva Rohe and brother, Clarence (Gaye) Schack; and sister’s-in-law, Jeanette Kremer and Mary Jane Schack.  Preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa Schack and siblings Cletus, Esther and Linus Schack, Irma Schadler and Lorraine Witschger. Evelyn was a retired bus monitor for special needs students at Campbell County Schools.  Her children have fond memories of camping trips and annual family vacations. She enjoyed gardening and canning and shared son John’s garden bounty with the family.  She loved attending her grandchildren’s school and social events.  Evelyn never drank more than half a beer and her children will continue to celebrate her with that tradition.  One of her favorite holidays was Halloween and her family is comforted knowing she will get to celebrate in heaven this year. Visitation 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday, October 26 at the Alexandria Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Friday October 27 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, Alexandria, KY. Interment will be Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria. Edna Mae Works Hale, of Independence, KY, formerly of Alexandria, KY, passed into Heaven on October 13, 2017. She was loved by her husband of 55 years, Doyle R. Hale, daughters, Lisa Marie Duty (Ron) of Alexandria and Lori Ann Hale of Independence. She was adored by her 3 grandchildren, Zakariah Scott Duty, Alyson Marie Duty and Elijah Clay Duty; siblings, Margaret Baker, Norma Maynard, Sonny Works and Johnny Works. She was preceded in death by her older brother Charlie Works. She has many nieces and nephews as well as great – nieces and nephews. She was an employee of Overhead Door and a faithful member of HighPoint Baptist Church for 66 years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and her dog Grady. Albert Bernard Ploeger

Albert Bernard Ploeger, Formerly of Alexandria, KY, Baptist Convalescent Center and Carmel Manor, passed into eternal rest on October 14, 2017, one day before his 82nd birthday. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, JoAnn (Casagrande), 6 children: Mary Bjelland, Jeanie (Wayne) Hodges, Charlie (Becky) Joe (Sharon), Mike and John (Rhonda). He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Albert was a pressman with Diamond International and other area printing shops. He loved family, farming and animals, especially dogs. Edgar William “Bill” Gregg, age 76, of California, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Bill was an Air Force Veteran and a union iron worker for Iron Worker Local 44. He was also a former facility maintenance man for the University of Cincinnati. Robert J. Blaut, 97, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. Robert was a WW II Army Veteran and received the Bronze Star Medal and a Purple Heart for heroic or meritorious achievement of service. He was a machinist and retired from American Tool. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Velma Lee Blaut (nee Clift) and a son, Robert “Bobby” Blaut, who was killed in action in the Viet Nam War. Robert is survived by many nieces and nephews. Minnie A. Harrison (nee Arkenau) 103, Alexandria, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport, KY. Gary Dale Race, 64, of Alexandria, KY passed away Saturday at home. He was a former employee of Tri-State Auto Body. Alvin Stamper, age 63, of Cold Spring, passed away on October 3, 2017 at his residence. He was a retired steel worker from Steelcraft Manufacturing and a member of the United Steel Workers. Alvin was an avid classic car enthusiast. He is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Linda Stamper; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Stamper; son, Alvin (Tiffanie) Stamper, Jr.; three brothers, Orlando, Johnny, and R.J. Roger Ortlieb, 76, of Camp Springs, KY, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at his residence. Roger was a Veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #44 of Cincinnati, OH for 51 years, Northern Kentucky Saddle Club, Camp Springs Coyote Club, Bellevue Social Club, League of Kentucky Sportsman, Campbell County VFW Post # 3205 and the National Rifle Association. Nancy Isabelle Gannon "Erwin", 84, of Fort Thomas, KY, went to be with the LORD on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Nancy was born January 2, 1933 in Macomb, IL to George Washington and Mary Gertrude "Parks" Erwin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Emmet Gannon, a daughter, Gail Gannon, her parents, and a brother, Jim Erwin. Nancy formerly lived in Peoria, IL and was an active member at El Vista Baptist Church in children ministries, sang in a trio and church choir. She was a homemaker, with a love for animals, birds, flowers, and had a gift for home decorating. In her younger years she worked as a Telephone Operator and in Market Research. Nancy is survived by three children, Gary (Cathey) Gannon, Greg (Tammy) Gannon and Gracia (Greg) Zink; she was a loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at the Wilton Mortuary, 2101 N. Knoxville Avenue, Peoria, IL 61603 on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM CST until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM CST. Tina Lynn Tarhouni

Tina (Barker) Tarhouni, 41, of Cynthiana, Ky. passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from complications of Diabetes and COPD. Tina was proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents John C. and Edna Eckert of Melbourne, Ky and her both parents, Donald Barker and Donna (Eckert) Barker. Tina was the youngest child of Donald Barker and the only child of Donna Barker. Tina was also proceeded in death by two uncles, Steve Eckert and Charles Daniel and her aunt, Sharon Daniel. Tina leaves behind her uncle, John (Earlene) Eckert and her aunt, Robin (Mark)McCann. Cousins, Cheryl (Ernest) Zornes, Holly McCann and Edward McCann and numerous 2nd cousins. Larry "Dave" Fillhardt

Larry “David” Fillhardt, age 62, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at the VA Hospital Cincinnati, OH. Dave proudly served in the United States Army, Special Forces and worked 30 years as a conductor for CSX Railroad. In his 50-year career, he worked for several jewelers in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, designing and hand-making custom jewelry for many clients and friends.  He was a veteran who served during 1950-52 as a reconnaissance tank driver during the Korean War, and often talked about his friends and his time in the military.  A sports lover, Charles began coaching basketball and baseball in 1967 with the Knights of Columbus Squires youth group and continued to coach well into his 70s with his softball team, “Charlie’s Gems.”  He remained friends with many of his former players throughout his lifetime. He was a graduate of Newport Catholic High School, was a Kentucky Colonel, and mostly an avid UK fan. 
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Mae and Selden Rowe.  Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Joan (Scheibly) Rowe; his children Tom (Julie) Rowe; Terry (Jim) Roessler; Judy See (fiancé Mike Caldwell); Jim (Sally) Rowe; Bob (Angie) Rowe; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.    
Visitation is Wednesday, September 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington Street, Alexandria, Kentucky. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, September 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Parish, 8246 East Main Street, Alexandria, Kentucky. Burial to follow at St. Stephen Cemetery, 1523 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Kentucky.

Gregory Allen Johnson

Gregory Allen Johnson, 54, of Alexandria, KY, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Greg was an employee of the U. S. Postal Service in Cincinnati, OH. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Marian (Short) Johnson; fiancée, Bernice “Bunny” Schmitt, daughter, Aimee Suzanne Johnson; three brothers, Jeff, Keith and Kevin Johnson and two grandchildren, Kayla and Jaydan. Margaret "Marge" E. See

Margaret “Marge” E. See (nee Rust), 79, of Melbourne, KY, passed away on August 22, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Marge was born in California, KY on November 21, 1937. She attended Sts. Peter and Paul grade school and St. Mary’s High School where she graduated in 1955. She went on to work as a telephone operator at Villa Madonna College, as a legal secretary for her brother Harry J. Rust, then on to the law firm of Taft, Stettinius and Hollister from which she retired. She enjoyed many years on this career path and made lifelong friends along the way. Marge was a member of St. Joseph Parish of Camp Springs and the Camp Springs Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years she enjoyed traveling the world, volunteering, community outreach, and spending time with her family, all of which she met with great compassion and enthusiasm. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Rust, her brother Adrian “Bud” Rust and sister, Dolores See. She will be forever remembered by her loving children, Mark (Kyung) See, Lisa (Tom) Butt, Ron (Alice) See, cherished by her seven grandchildren Jessica (Justin), Evan, Monica, Gabrielle, Ben, Mitchell and Nathan; two great granddaughters, Carolina and Penelope.  She is survived by her sister Elaine (the late Henry) Nehus and her brother Harry (Nancy) Rust. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 9:30 to 11:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00pm at St. Joseph Church, Camp Springs. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Camp Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Bishop Brossart High School Music Department. The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to family and friends for their love and support during Marge’s illness. Carmen Castle

Carmen Lee Castle, age 81, of Highland Heights, KY passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Highland Spring of Ft. Thomas. Carmen was a member of Christ Baptist Church in Cold Spring, KY.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 39yrs, Donald Castle in 1998. She is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Kristina) Castle of Tacoma, WA and Gerald Castle of Highland Heights, KY; two brothers, Thomas (Gerri) Baxter of Alaska and Robert (Michelle) Baxter of Arizona; two grandsons, Mitchell and Joseph Castle both of Tacoma, WA.  A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Alexandria Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 7pm.  Interment will be in the Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford, OH.

Richard Albert Seibert

Richard Albert Seibert, age 90, of Alexandria, KY passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  He was a retired clothing presser, secretary of the AFL-CIO Amalgamated Clothing Union, WWII Army Veteran, and a member of St. Mary Parish.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Clay M. Bowman and three brothers, Henry Jr., Jack, and Joe Seibert. Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pamela Seibert (nee Haubner); two daughters, Margaret (Rick) Boesch and Dorothy (Mike) Bowman; two brothers, Gene and Donald Seibert; sister, Gertrude Smith; four grandchildren, Jamie (Mark) Daugherty,  Jessica (Chris) Boesch, Chad Bowman, and Holly Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Harper and Hayden Daugherty. Myra Fern Nelson

Myra Fern Nelson (nee Cropenbaker), 81, of Melbourne, KY, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas. Myra is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Richard Taylor Nelson; two sons, Rick (Regina) Nelson and Bruce (Pam) Nelson; sister, Adrienne Graves; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Zelda (Rader) Cropenbaker; siblings, Edwin Paul Cropenbaker Sr. and Vivian Gerding. Octavia “Octa” Stone Jenkins (nee Cann) , 91, of Highland Heights, KY, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood. Octa was loved by her family, her friends, and her church family.  She was admired for her wit, wisdom, and enduring strength. Octa was a former cook at A.J. Jolly School, California, KY, and retired from the D.A.V. in Cold Spring, KY. She was a member of Mentor Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Axel Stone and Ottis Jenkins; son, Jerry Stone; grandson, Eric Stone; parents, Warren and Anna (Hutchison) Cann; siblings, Mildred Norris, Gladys Cummins,  Mabel Jones, Lillian Rittinger, Bill, Gerald, Gene and Ralph Cann. Sandra L. Wright (nee Gulick), 67, of Silver Grove, KY, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at Indianspring of Oakley. Sandy was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 47 years,  Rickey J. Wright; three children, Aimee Fathergill, Shaun Wright and Jamie Wright; nine grandchildren, Katelyn, Joshua, Alexis, Latem, Raelynn, Britini, Abagail and Robbie; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Kenasyn; an uncle, Robert Gulick. Elsie Marie Arkenau (nee Walter), 97, of California, KY, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Thelma M. Stokes

Thelma M. Stokes, age 95, of Ft. Thomas, KY passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY.  Thelma was a former interior decorator for Mill End Gallery, Cincinnati, OH and a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Ft. Thomas, KY.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Stokes in 1981.  She is survived by five daughters, Joy Powers, Jenetta Anderson, Denise Richards, Deborah (Gary) Grill, and Robyn (Tom) Endres; son, Kevin (Amy) Stokes; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Jean Smith

Jean Smith (nee Sebastian), age 76, of Cold Spring, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Jean was a former cafeteria worker for the DAV and a member of Summit Church of Christ, Cold Spring, KY.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Lynn Smith and siblings, Wilson Sebastian, Edith Arkenau, and Dorothy McIntosh. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nelson Smith; three sons, David (Debbie), Doug (Rachel), and Darrell (Michelle) Smith; six brothers, Daniel, Oscar, Truman, Freedis, Herman, and Robert Sebastian; two sisters, Juanita Sargent and Geneva Herald; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Eugene Partin, age 87, of Erlanger, KY passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, KY.  Eugene enjoyed woodcarving, fishing, and hunting.
